Watched a few Korean movies too :p ...My little bride... my sassy girl.. 100 days with Mr Arrogant (something like that), My Mother The Mermaid(my favorite)... and one more movie about kindergarten children, forget the name..

@Angel-likeDevil I don't know anything about world cinema... I barely know anything about current HW 😊 (they annoy me very much nowadays)

I've watched only one Ingmar Bergman movie - Autumn Sonata with Ingrid Bergman - it's about the tense relationship between a mother and her grown-up daughter bcz she thinks her mother neglected her growing up.

This mirrored Ingrid Bergman's real life, her relationship with her daughter with first husband was tensed too bcz she left them for director Roberto Rosellini and moved to Italy (he later ditched her for another married, mother of two, an Indian lady named Sonali Dasgupta)

They made a few Italian movies, I llike 'Stromboli', its like an arthouse movie.

I've watched one Chinese movie accidentally "Curse of the Golden flower" Interesting epic movie with colorful scecaries and luxurious settings.

I would love to read classic literature but sadly don't have the patience or inclination.

So I do the next best thing... I like watching old HW movies based on them like Jane Austen stories, Wuthering Heights, War and Peace, Moby Dick, Great Gatsby ( This one I've read), Les Miserables etc

Although my interest in movies is waning nowadays there are so many books out there, would like to watch them all 😆

If auto tune is also used for the actual singers then we can't blame the actors who has sang couple of songs n they're auto tuned.

Somehow I still feel if it's just to enhance the film or just to promote the film.. some of them are still fine but once in a while unless they dont start talking bullshit like Sinha. .but that doesn't mean we've to hear singers like Farhan, Sharaddha who speaks the lyrics as if she is singing while eating, Alo who has to sing every unplugged version of her film song n be presented as if she has done something outstanding n PCJ, who feels no one should have any problem even if it's their ears that hurt.

Ah, did you like Autumn Sonata.. 😃 ..and what a troubled life she has led... I'm yet to watch a movie starring Ingrid.. :)

Stromboli for some reason reminds me of.. "Lighthouse of Mediterranean" - the volcano! I'm curious about the movie now:)

Hmm.. Betty, have you watched Bill Paxton's Frailty? I always start the movie but get uncomfortable during the opening credits and close it :/

ha when you want to skip the exhausting irritating details in novels, movie is the better option I guess :p ..I want to do both though, somehow watching + reading gives me a 'full' vision 😃

What other book-based classics have you watched Betty, and what's your favorite? :)

I think I've only watched Moby Dick(latest adaptation - In The Heart of The Sea) from the list above.. but have read few books(Wuthering Heights, couple of Jane Austen books)... how is the movie Wuthering Heights?? :)

@bold --- ahh, perhaps it's a phase? :p ..would you say you watch lot of movies?? :) (more than average person :p )

Haven't watched 'frailty', not sure even heard of it, but I have poor memory :) But IMO any movie that upsets you and makes you so uncomfortable is not worth watching.

Yes Stromboli is a small island in Italy, home of Mt. Stromboli volcano which has been active for 2000 yrs nonstop and it is called "Lighthouse of Mediterranean" ( you know so much 👍🏼)

Autumn Sonata - Yes I really like it... I've yet to see a below average Ingrid movie or anything less than virtuoso performance of hers ⭐️

Bold - I don't know why maybe too much PC nowadays (political correctness not priyanka chopra)

too much agenda, actors offscreen behaviour etc but the main reason is decline in quality, most movies made now look and feel like 'made for TV movie' imo.
