Same here...didn't like the Song when i first heard it but it's something else in the theatre...same with the rest of the songs except maybe dandaalayya which I loved the minute I heard it...and it's shot beautifully too showing how amarendra remains a king even if he didn't have riches or any powerful position...

@Maya- I loved it too. Looked fab on the big screen. Am the only one who hated hamsa nava? I really like that song but hated the way it was picturised. I understand SSR wanted to give it a fantasy or out of the world feel but this kinda looked comical to me after a point. Which is sad cos Prabhas-Anushka looked stunning in that song and had amazing chemistry. It's head and shoulders above the crapfest that was Pacha Bottesi but I really wish SSR kept it normal and just used their chemistry to convey whatever he wanted to.

I think prabhas and anushka deserved a more intense song...

I think I will go watch this again after a few days😆

Oedipus complex is Definately not fitting one here, not from any sides even 😆
But I did felt that Shivagami was jealous of Devasena . As decadent was exact how Shivgami was fiercy ,confident and Brave . Devasena had already gutted her ego by sending back Bhalla's alliance and then seeing Bhahu keeping Devasena above her was last blow .

The Promises made by each character was the main driving script of the movie "Mera Vachan hi Mera Shasan hain" and all the promises shots were done splendidly esp the baby Shiva giving promise to Devasena .

Finally watched the movie today n LOVED it for the most part.
STUNNING visuals with Brilliant direction👏.Lots of shots could be used as a wallpaper, poster etc. A special mention for the opening credits ..very creative!! Excellent music, BEAUTIFUL outfits (I want some 😆). Everyone looked liked a million bucks! Prabhas was regal, Anushka was gorgeous n Rana was HOT! Great acting by the main and supporting cast..all did justice to their roles.

Coming to weak links (*Spoilers ahead). Firstly the screen time..too much focus on Baahubali, Devasena n their love track due to which other aspects of the story were compromised. I was utterly disappointed with limited scenes of Bhalladev who isn't just an integral part of the movie but also an interesting character. Wished to see more of his planning, obsession with Devasena (esp when both were living in same place) and who did he marry?😕. Shivgami's brains clearly went on a vacation..How can a righteous person like her not consider a women's consent in marriage? ( those who've watched will noe wat I'm referring to). Also, she was quite aloof to her surroundings, unlike in 1st part. The war sequence had some illogical action stunts and overall was not as Grand as expected.

Nonetheless, Baahubali 1 & 2 have certainly been incredible cinematic experiences which will be cherished for years to come. Hope SSR continues enthralling the audience with more such films.

I have a different opinion on Devasena. I think she was reckless and impulsive in some scenes. She could have handled the confrontation with Shivagami in a better way. She's not a commoner. She's a princess and i think she missed the lesson of diplomacy taught to royal kids.
Shivagami is the rajmata of a powerful kingdom so we can only imagine how big her ego would be. Devasena was right in everything that she did and said but there's a way of saying things. Even poison tastes good with honey. When we try to convince someone, we use a soft tone and measure our words. We don't want to offend them.

What happened with Devasena is that only her tone and her arrogance were noted and her words were dismissed. The only place that she spoke well was when she was chained.
So for all her strength and courage, she was pretty hotheaded and rash.

Draupadi also had the same problem. There was not a single humble bone in her body.

Bahubali the conclusion

The only show in town , or rather the only show in India this weekend---S S Rajamouli's magnum opus 'Bahubali the conclusion ( part second )'...for it had hogged almost all shows and all screens at all multiplexes and theatres in the country...and it seemed all of India was streaming to watch the movie on sunday...for inspite of the enormous number of screens fixed for the film , the seats were packed to full capacity...And the owners of the multiplex were taking full advantage of the situation , for advertisements after advertisements followed each other prolonging the wait for the audience...when the movie finally started , there were whistles even from the uber cool and ultra sophisticated audience with whom I was watching the movie...yes , ashdoc brings you these reviews by watching movies in the best of places and among the best of people...

The movie begins with two onscreen giants ( Amarendra Bahubali played by Prabhas , and Bhallala deva played by Rana Daggubati ) locked in eternal rivalry over the throne of the magnificent kingdom of Mahishmati...and they soon become rivals for the affection of the princess ( Devasena played by Anushka Shetty ) of the kingdom of Kuntala too . And like always , it is the nice guys who are at the receiving end of injustice...for Bhallala Deva and his father ( Nassar playing Bijjaladeva ) hatch a plot to not only remove Amarendra from the seat of power but also finish him off...

Presiding over this mayhem is the queen ( Maharani Sivagami played by Ramya Krishnan ) , and taking part in all this not from the sidelines but right in the centre of it all is Kattappa ( played by Sathyaraj )...after all , he is the one who kills Bahubali---an unsolved mystery from the last film and a subject of countless jokes on whatsapp ; it would not be a exaggeration to say that many people had come to see the film to know why Kattappa killed Bahubali...

But behold the justice of providence...Amarendra Bahubali's son has been born and saved from the cruel fate planned for him by the villains , looks exactly like his father and has been named as Mahendra Bahubali...he has come to avenge the death of his father and the imprisoning of his mother , and he has come with his future consort ( played by the gorgeous Tammanah ) ; the battle royale is about to be fought...

The first one hour does drag a bit---some incidents and acting during this period is not too convincing and not too serious...but as the interval approached the audience was bombarded with heart thumping music that aroused the senses---the movie had begun to pick up real momentum at this point...

In the second half , the movie does develop into an engaging story . Again as the climax approached , the movie seemed to stretch a little too long and I was waiting for the final battle to begin . As the final battle ended , once more the bombardment of heart pounding music that electrified the senses...if you want to enjoy it fully , see the movie equipped with Dolby atmos sound as I did .

The final battle however is not as well showcased as the battle between the armies of Mahishmati and the armies of barbarians that was shown in the last part . The battle in the first part was truly equal to Hollywood in standards . This time , the final battle was not so great in scale and not photographed with such exquisite skill .

So does S S Rajamouli's effort pay off ? Yes , in the final analysis it does . For the movie is still far grand than anything that has been filmed in India so far . The grandeur of the vast palaces , the perfection of the weapons used for war , the scale of the monuments in the city , the inventiveness shown in filming the individual fighting scenes , the size of the animals like elephants and oxen , the richness of the clothes worn by the royals---all speaks of super extravagance . Acting is decent enough , colours of the film are good , songs and background music are hummable , and the main characters seem like towering figures on the silver screen . 'Bahubali' is truly the pinnacle of extravagant cinematography .

to add to the above review---

One thing about the movie is it's unabashed trumpeting of hindu identity and culture , something that Bollywood has been remarkably squeamish in showing . Statues of Ganesha , Shivling , and Krishna regularly adorn the film . The story itself has parallels to ancient Indian epics like Ramayan and Mahabharat , with Bijjaladeva playing the role of Shakuni and Kattappa playing Bhishma like role . The reason for this is that the movie is produced by Tollywood , which is free from the influence of the Karachi based mafia that controls Bollywood . Thankfully at least regional cinema has some pride left in our culture !!

Verdict---Good .

Three and a half stars .

saw it , loved it
apt conclusion to the movie

For me, the best actor and whose role was more important and impactful was undoubtedly Ramya Krishnan, if she did not play the queen mother with such command and intensity, the other characters wouldn't have had an impact or justified their role.

All the actors did their role very well but for me, she was the one led from the front.

Wow even I too mentioned in my review that Ramya Krishnan stole the show for me as Sivagami even though everyone else pitched in their best(prabhas career best, anushka and satyaraj brilliant act). But seriously her performance proves the amazing talent she always has been. If Neelambari role was her career changing role, Sivagami will be career defining role. Love her, she is truly a living legend!
