The movie is all right but I loved Kanan Gill. He was so charming. Someone take him in a modern rom-com right now, whether for film or TV or the Internet.

Watched it last night. Not half as bad as I was expecting. Sonakshi was brilliant. It's a shame the plot took a turn for the boring in the second half, if it was decent it would've done wonders for her. I believe the director used to do ads in the past. This is very evident on the numerous montage/drinking shots in the film. They distract from the story.

Sonakshi was awesome

Tho 2nd half sort of dips somewhere

She really needs a script that does justice to her talent

Sunday - 1,75,00,000

the numbers are indeed shocking

but i don't think it is the biggest disaster. I think that is rangoon considering the losses are more there due to much bigger budget..but so many disasters already and just 4 months of this year..ok janu..rangoon..now noor..all starring A listers..shocking

Noor is pretentious and pointless. They had all the right ingredients to make a good film but somehow made a hodge podge of a Buzzfeed video and an emo Aaj Tak news report. There's absolutely no effort towards the set up of the story (conveniently done through the same old voiceover), no character build up, development between the characters and no meat in the whole story. The film looked like one of those lame web series by a pop culture based platform that suddenly goes wrong and lamer in the second half. Add to that the superficial dialogues with all the hashtags and journalistic jargons thrown here and there, the BORING London segment and the melodramatic 'Mumbai you're killing me' viral video. The reason why the film in itself is khokli along with Noor herself and Mumbai is because it ends up being like armchair activism instead of being a hard hitting serious film.
There's just NO connectivity with the film whatsoever because the film apes every single coming of age, feel good Hollywood film instead of having something original of it's own, rooted in the desi scheme of things. The whole country doesn't revolve around social media and hashtags, filmmakers need to see beyond metro cities while making such films in order to attract the audience and make them connect to the character and the film-something that Queen or English Vinglish did otherwise obviously theatres will run empty. There's not much to talk about the acting since the film in itself lets the actors down.Sonakshi is decent but isn't able to carry the film on her shoulders. She hits the right note on the emotional scenes(except for that NOT so subtle audition video like Mumbai monologue) but goes somewhat overboard in the first half as the millennial having first world problems in a third world country.
I had become a fan of Sonakshi after Lootera and was really expecting some great work from her after all the recognition but I really don't know what's wrong with her choices.I don't know why but I feel she is a bit pretentious who thinks a strong sounding woman character would automatically make the women centric film a good film.Akira,Force 2 and now Noor?!
Noor is the result of the pretentious pop culture prevalent amongst the Buzzfeed generation these days in the country- no one gives a f**k about it offline.Just like the box office result of this film.

All starring A-listers?

Sonakishi A-lister?
Aditya A-lister?

I would say A-listers are those who can pull people to theaters. None of them are. Not even shraddha kapoor. Sonakshi is far from it.
