Did you see the pic of Disha Patani? She can wear it in her house or model party. You seriously think it's an acceptable dress to wear for instance public event like Indian Idol or at a family gathering?

Cleavage. .,...don't lump all cleavage show into one. Of course women show cleavage to some extent like girls wear mini skirts or shorts. But if in the name of shorts you wear a thong to a public event, won't it be inviting comment and making people uncomfortable?

Can't we look good without showing body?
If it comes to "if you have got it , flaunt it" then why don't men with six pack abs come bare bodied to events? Would that be appreciated ?

It's just the fact that men always said bullshits like "shyness is ornament of women" and "women should be fully covered" so to protest against that norm showing skin has become parameter of modernity. Just like women have started smoking and becoming alcoholic with the logic "if men can do why not us?". But smoking and drinking is bad for both, right?

So why take bad habits of men to "match up" to them? I don't think women need to "match up" to them. Make yourself modern by thinking and knowledge not by sexual teasing or drinking and smoking.

Men do all sorts of wrong things. Do women need to "match up" to them in those departments also?

Suppose men do eve-teasing. So do women also need to tease men just because men do that to women? Won't that be wrong? Will that be "match up" or degradation?

Men started raping as they are physically stronger than women. So do women need to rape physically weaker persons?

Women are already far above men by virtue of character. In the past women were oppressed because men were physically stronger so that they could force them upon women.

But do women need to "match up" to them by doing stupid unnecessary things? Do women need to tell men "it's our body so we can wear whatever we want to and we can show our skin". But how come that make women progressive and modern?

1. It could be for comfort. (Jeans and shirt over Salwar with Dupatta is more convenient while travelling. Either public transport or a two wheeler).

2. It could be adaptation, while staying there (Be a roman..)

3. You might be feeling inferior with your cultural cloths.

4. Just for change.

If the reasons are first three, western dress will sustain. If it is 4, it is just a passing phase. Wearing gown in Bollywood functione in India is definitely not for reason 1 or 2. Is it 3 or 4, we will know with time.
