Are Ff still rigged ? - Page 5

Have just skimmed through some of the comments but it's easy to decipher as to how it's one of those scenarios ..where you are damned if you do and damned if you don't. If Shahrukh had won for FAN then I'm sure quite a few here would have been like rigged 😆 but even when he hasn't won , folks are still stating it's rigged! 😆. So by not giving an award to Shahrukh for FAN where his performance was almost universally praised by everyone and their brother , the FF awards have done damage control..bravo on that effed up logic man! And I'm not even stating Aamir or Shahid or Manoj didn't deserve their awards , Aamir was beyond fantastic in Dangal , haven't watched UP or Aligarh to comment on the performances but it's darn clear that Shahid and Manoj were damn good as the reviews stated that. The hypocrisy is what I find amazing here. On one hand you would have an issue with Shahrukh getting an award for a performance which was praised by almost every critic out there and would label the awards as rigged but on the other hand you are darn pleased when your favorite wins the same award and then the narrative changes to damage control because obviously going from rigged to not rigged would be too drastic , so let's take the middle path! 😆 Every award has its own set of jury , so just like anything a FF jury too has its own likes or preferences when it comes to performances. Which is why awards too are subjective because at the end of the day it's an opinion or rather a majority of opinion that decides who the winner is.

I don't put any of these awards on some pedestal but I always find it amusing as to how certain things become rigged or not so rigged based on who wins it! Even Oscars and Golden Globes are not without their flaws. Anyone who has followed those would know as to how much politics happens there as well.

Expecting to see some backtracking now 😆

ok...wht makes u think that will start believing these BA...still doesn't take away of wht's been happening for many years in these awards shows...two days back they were trashed for not nominating Manoj,Dangal girls and Akki...it looks like damage control from their side...how come Manoj is not nominated who gave one of best performance of the year and even Dangal girls...IMO Aamir and Manoj delivered top 2 performances of the year...they were absolutely brilliant...

FF negtively trended on twitter so possible hai k Damage Control ho to please people

TV shows are in different category from motion picture in GG...look at their list of categories.

Their drama films are usually the serious ones like our art/parallel cinema in BW and comedy/ musicals in HW are same as our commercial movies

So GG film awards have some commonality with BW awards.

Oscars are highly biased in favor of Caucasian actors, last year there was huge controversy and protests as no non white actors/actresses were even nominated.

Just because its Hollywood, its not perfect. We always criticize BW awards on this forum but HW awards are no better, especially Oscars.

Golden Globes are better actually, the winners are usually the deserving ones as we have observed over the years.

i just think the format of bollywood award shows needs to be better, it shud be live, not so long, and the actors shud not know who is winning before hand, yes that doesn't mean there wont still be any rigging but with these changes it can make an improvement

Oscars also give awards to undeserving candidates, and deserving ones are ignored...has happened many many times over the years.

What abt Leo being constantly ignored for so many years inspite of giving best performances?

As for Anupama tweeting how wonderful Oscars are...she and her hubby are always biased towards HW and turn their noses on BW.

Problem is we desis always diss our own industry and awards while praising HW and its awards inspite of all the favoritism, lobbying, biasness, racism that goes on in the Oscars

I agree abt the BW award shows though, too long, loud and flashy...they shd cut down on the dance performances, they shd be live, winners shd not know beforehand.

Oscars are sometimes so horribly boring, like when James Franco and Anne Hathaway co-hosted...it was a snoozefest, everyone here trashed it...but I bet Anupama found that one thrilling too...😆

and yeh leo didn't win for many years wen he shud hav, but he still attended the awards everytime he was nominated and was very happy wen he eventually won, he didn't boycott or throw in the towel wen he didn't win

i'm sure aamir doesn't care that he won the filmfare, so wat respect does this award have?

I want bollywood to hav an award show that everyone respects, takes seriously, where there is an actual excitement to attend and watch it

Not read any comments, my 2 cents -
All awards are rigged , some more than others.
FF this year was trying to savage its reputation while balancing the usual Stars ego. It has done reasonably well this time .
Hope other awards also follow the suit .

Irony when just 2 days back he said he does not care about awards😆
