Sharukh got popular with Baazigar and Durr before DDLJ.

Sharukh also mentioned something similar, with better wordings. He mentioned Ranbir's and Alia's work as too much too soon. (When you do good films in your earlier career, you will loose interest in doing a midiocre film. If you become elite, your popularity and longetevity suffers). Amitabh never did roles like Nasiruddin Shah in 80s, though he was capable of pulling it. Once his stardom faded, he took out the actor in him.

I had read all these posts yesterday. Seems like Sanjay and Salman has a huge fallout. Salman had promised to party with Sanjay when he is out. Seems like Khan has gone back on his word. I am not interested in what anyone including Sanjay has to say about RK any more. It bores me now like Padmavati PR.

RK is good actor. His previous attempts to play to gallery may have gone hay wire. He must have learnt by now how to avoid the pitfalls.

Acting for BO (being entertainer) is different than being a good actor. Which is why Shahrukh had to stop taking roles that were good and go for popular movies. Both RK and Alia can benefit from his words of wisdom.

SSR is the one I want to watch out for in 2017 as to see how he navigates this shift.
