kahani 2 has collected around 5.5 crore first day.

Honestly after watching the show, i did feel it was a bit flawed n mainly becoz of 2nd half but at the end how many 'good films' we really make. at the time we should grow with stories people r making films like 'ishq junoon' W*F seriously. I applaud sujoy ghosh and balan both for brave narrative stories and somewhat they makes a difference...

this is certainly not going to be a success because I believe Kahaani's success was more about the film being related to terrorism which is such a sensitive topic. I just want it to sail safely...even 'above average' tag would do that would bring balan back in the game. well on the other hand, she should remain unaffected by game things. she is a star in her own league. and its a big thing that stories r written just to keep her in mind

kahaani 2 First Day Business

Kahaani 2 had a low first day as it grossed around 4.25 crore nett apprx on day one. The first Kahaani (2012) had grossed a little under 3 crore nett on day one four years back. The collections are less than a film like Akira released a few months back and also lower than other recent Vidya Balan films like Ghanchakker and Hamarai Adhuri Kahaani but that could be to the difference in Emraan Hashmi and Arjun Rampal but being a sequel it should have evened that up. The problem is the first film is not appreciatted as much as its made out to be so in fact that sequel value is practically nothing and Kahaani 2 is a stand alone film. On real value the opening is actually less than Kahaani (2012).

Like the last few weeks with Rock On 2 and Force 2, the fans are just not there because when a film is genuinely appreciated then if a film is made in that sequel / series it has a ready audience which comes when the film is released. The ready audience is why sequel / series are made and at bigger costs because you know a certain amount of people will turn up. But in this industry appreciation is read wrongly so we get films like Rock On 2, Force 2 and now Kahaani 2.

The evenings were a little better as the morning shows suggested a 3.50 crore nett total so it should grow on Saturday but the growth has to be big on Saturday and Sunday to come out with a somewhat decent weekend total. The business of the film is best in places like West Bengal and Mysore. In fact it is out performing in the same areas as Dear Zindagi last week with South and West Bengal being best.

just saying that 2nd half is not good on the basis of some reviews is NOT COOL. despite criticism for 2nd half, most of the people have appreciated the film and there's one thing one must not forget sujoy ghosh cant make a film what he really wants to make that's what he said in an interview. at the end all filmmakers he also has to take care of the commercial aspect. If he makes an out and out art thriller it will bomb at the BO in no time, so to take the audience in consideration he pans out a way that provides the thrist of those that would come in theatres for a satisfying entertaining experience. which is why he goes for liberties. at the end these reviewers are not going to take him further. the commercial aspect will. whether the film succeeds or not that's another case. but i can say that film has been overall appreciated.

but I don't care...the vibes on this forum are so horrible that everyone looks like a hater to me here...everyone, i may have become too lol.

People should not judge this film on the basis of kahANi, even though director and actor are same, the syory and presentation is different , also it is a mostly linear story unlike kahani with big twist in the end.

The performaces were great even from arjun rampal.

Cinematography , the score are all on point.

People are liking first half because it touches a sensitive issue and even though you know what is happening , when it actually comes out in open, it result in moment where you are uncomfortable and kudos to sujoy to talk about this subject with handling it properly.

The second half is more a thriller which is predictable and seen a lot in earlier films

That said , it is better than most bollywood films with vidya giving it all, hope to see her in more films now

After failure of tumbin2, rock on 2, kahani 2, hope Bollywood stop making unnecessary sequels just to cash on previous success. A lesson served to Bollywood this year..hope they won't ruin first part now by making useless sequels

I don't think age is a factor.

If we go back to 2009, when Vidya won her first Best Actress award for Paa, she was nominated alongside Kareena, Priyanka, Katrina, Deepika - they are all younger than her, 2, 4, 5, 8 years respectively. ⭐️
