I don't know how it is in India, but overseas ADHM is killing it. Doing really well! And Shivaay hasn't been released in a lot of the theaters.

Are u serious lol the film got an opening cos its a KJO film, then the leads, music played an imp part too. Fawad comes later. The controversy didn't do much for it since most people would not like to be seen as anti national. I'm sure many people also boycotted it cos it had a Pakistani actor.

😲...This is the first time I am hearing that the controversy did not help ADHM much...Everybody that I know from Mumbai, wanted to check it out because they really wanted to show the MNS goons that they stand by ADHM...And here in US, a lot of people who didn't even know about the movie, came to know of it through the controversy...You cannot undermine what the controversy did to the movie...

@ Mrs khan, I very much live in India. Most people go to watch a film based on its trailer, songs and star cast. Controversy helps a film when the content is controversial eg - PK, UP. People already knew ADHM is a Romcom so the controversy in my opinion didn't help the film as much as it did UP and PK.

I don't know which part of USA you live in, but where I live in, both of them are killing it and running back to back houseful...

Maybe cos I don't live in Mumbai 😆 and in my state MNS has zero importance, relevance ..most of my friends, colleagues went for ADHM cos it looked like a proper festival nach gana wala fun film.

We are talking as if ADHM is already a hit...its not still...picture abhi baki hai
The controversy and KJo taking advantage of it...helped the movie...
Aage dekhte hai kya hoga...but people were definitely curious why the film is banned and all

The families that I know here in US have families in South India and there they are not much curious about BW movies, but even they got curious to watch the movie because of the controversy that was created...The controversy helped the movie much more than anything else...Even the people who didn't care, came to care for it...some out of curiosity and some out of wanting to prove a point...

Controversies definitely helped ADHM, I remember how people were excited about Shivaay when trailer realised but later with every media outlets and social media discussing Fawad controversy, people almost forgot about Shivaay and ADHM took all the controversy. So it was laughable when I came to know Fawad didn't even had a 10 min cameo role. bechara ke naam me movie ko publicity mile aur uska role toh almost tha hi nahi😆

The point is u can't generalise the entire bunch who went to watch Adhm, some went for controversy, some for kjo, some for music, trailer etc. Let's see today's collection, if it does more then opening day it means people want to watch the film irrespective of the controversy.
