I think the male audience really identifies with his machismo and attitude.

Plus, he has somewhat successfully rehabilitated his public image. He has built this image of the Entertainer of the Masses.

I don't get it, but maybe this is why.

One thing I don't get though, in his case or SRK/Aamir's case is blind fan worship. I mean, you do realize they're not Gods, right?

Every time you say something about these stars, their fans will descend on you like a swarm of bees and take it so personally, as if they're being paid to defend the celeb's honour. Senseless.

In the name of being a fan, they support their wrongdoings too and at the same time want justice or the right thing to be done in their case. If you're supporting something wrong, then get ready to have the same be done to you.

Him being a goofy n a macho at the same times appeals to many.

One of the most handsome faces on Indian cinema ever, excellent screen presence as in one of the most dominating, ability to deliver on masala movies. Most of his romances are family friendly especially lately when every other movie especially with the younger lot has kissing in the name of romance. His movies have high repeat value.

Having max number of haters doesn't mean a person is on the top. People have a reason to hate him and that's his criminal cases. Nothing to be proud of as if it's some achievement 😆
