And yes...public/onscreen kissing is a taboo! Its a taboo even in the Hollywood and the world over...Otherwise there won't be so much talk about it!

Just because it is a hit, doesn't mean every person out there liked it...

Taboo, in the sense, it still is talked about...People still give importance to it...If its not a big deal, no one would be talking about it...

The fact that people whistle at kissing scenes in cinemas or movies are sold on the basis of sex . Or till the time we refer to Emraan as "Smooching King or whatever"...there is your moral judgement, taboo and "eyeroll".

I was just gonna say that this wouldn't be such a big deal in HW. I don't think public/on screen kissing is taboo in Paris (where the video is set) or in HW movies. They have kisses in U rated movies also, because the social ideology surrounding it is different. It's just a gesture of love and not something sleazy.

IMO, I don't think it's sleazy or that it should be taboo. Two people kissing each other doesn't harm you or cause boils to erupt on your face. So, I think we should stop treating it like a taboo and not castigate people who do it (not saying you're doing that).

Channe Ke Khet Mein is and was a big hit. There is no larger social disapproval, which is why it is a hit. If people don't like something, they make their voice heard, like in this song's case.

Err...I went through the other thread and no one really seems to be going all tauba tauba or be bothered by the actual act of kissing, as is being insinuated here 🤔. It's the fact that they're forcing this "progressive" act down our throats without any sir aur paun to it that seems to be the problem, and rightly so.
so far the makers of this movie are only using kissing as a way to entice/sell their product to people. Is there anything more to it other than kissing? is kissing really the only selling point of this movie?
Being progressive doesn't mean accepting anything 'western' or anything that was once considered 'wrong', even if unfairly, without any meaning to it.

Ainweyein, Kuching bhi 😆

of course but who is going to pay attention to people who did not like it when there are more people that like it...these are the same songs played on street corners choli ke peeche, chane ke khet, fevicol se, munni badnaam hui... these are the same songs uneducated people who cannot grasp the concept of right from wrong hear... if there were backlash...such songs would not be written and produced... such songs sell the fastest...

kissing scenes in BW are reduced to the physical act... its not exactly seen as love or affection... so why is that songs like chodo mujhe janedo is seen as a sensuous romantic song...not talking about you, but talking about majority...
