I think its just the opposite ... the film is making a big deal out of "kissing" by having the whole promotions, posters and now song focused on it.

its like the bikini scenes which actress/director will hype in every thing when its really no big deal and there for like 2 minutes top.

By now, kissing scenes are pretty common in bollywood. Looks like someone forgot to give aditya chopra that memo

I didn't find it gross. I just tuned out as I found it darn boring! 😆 To me the way they have promoted it so far has just looked extremely gimmicky. It's like Adi with each poster is trying to say...hey look I'm making something different this time. At least that's the vibe I have got so far from the posters that I have seen. It's not a big deal but they are making it a big deal with the way they're promoting it. It's that part that I find a bit laughable.

There's nothing regressive or progressive about onscreen kissing. It's only about comfort for the viewer and the blending factor of the scene with the script.
I checked the thread you referred to but actually there were barely any people who found it sick coz of kissing. Most of the people commented in negative coz there seemed to be no base to the story, just kissing like even if they would have used the lyrics to blend with the kisses, be it of timeless love or innocent love then prolly more would have liked it.

Indian audiences have already warmed up to kisses. There are kissing scenes in almost every movie. Some people do like PDA and some don't. Now you can not put the latter in the regressive category just because of their lack of comfort regarding something. Nudity or sex scenes are always appreciated when they blend in the script, when the script demands it.

Kissing is a personal thing and it should be done privately also. I can't watch someone kissing if I am watching a movie with someone else. It looks awkward to be honest.

There is only a small amount of people who are okay with kisses and them being in BW movies while most people still have a problem with it. I think right now people dont get the message of the kissing poster which is okay but the video has a message but those who are okay with kisses cant look over it and completely ignore the message behind these kisses. We started accepting these kisses in movies but if its shown its because of publicity and to sell the movies. Why this kind of thought? because its still a taboo. If you see kissing posters of HW movies or promo pics you wont care cause its normal for them.

Some say love and romance is not equal to kiss but its one of the important expressions to show your love and affection. And it doesnt matter how old you are and with whom you are shareing it. Little kids giving kisses are not different from old couples or if you thick or thinn, short or tall and especially homosexuals who need to hold back because society arent accepting them . If you feeling it you shouldnt care about others and people should stop judging them cause thats what you are doing also behind the doors with your partner.

There is nothing wrong with kissing. It is less of a taboo than it once was. Hopefully, someday in the future a lot more people in India will be comfortable with kissing.
I have no problem with kissing. In fact I have no problems with even lovemaking in films as long as it is tastefully done. You could have an hour long song with kissing and I could have been fine. Despite that I disliked 'Labon Ka Kaarobar'. I can see why many people found it distasteful.

Here is the problem - the kissing in the song is one dimensional. Nearly everyone is French kissing. Some are engaging in behavior that would be 'uncomfortable' even in progressive cities. Either the makers of the song wanted to create a 'buzz' by throwing in a lot of kissing or it is conceptualized by someone who has not been in a healthy relationship and is completely unaware of all the varying emotions a kiss can convey.

Where is the awkward first kiss, where both people are a bundle of nerves but continue anyway? Where is the kiss goodbye after a date, where its too early to be passionate, but you still want to let each other know that you're into them? Where is the kiss where there are no sparks flying, but two souls are connecting on a deeper level? Where is the quick peck on a hectic morning where you have to make sense of your chaotic life and get to work on time, but must kiss your love goodbye before you head out? Where is the I am sorry kiss and a hug when couples are trying to reconcile after a fight? Where is the take care, come back soon kiss when someone is going away for a while? And where is the ecstatic I'm so happy kiss when someone get's back? There's so many more situations that could have been covered.

Why does romance have to be so monochromatic? Why does it have to be just about french kissing? Is physical chemistry the only thing that makes and defines love? In my personal opinion, portraying kissing in just this one dimension is distasteful and disrespectful to the whole range of kisses and emotions that come together to make a romantic relationship.

To see how you can correctly incorporate kissing and all other forms of love and expression of it watch the beginning and end montages of 'Love Actually'.

It's the fact that they're forcing this "progressive" act down our throats without any sir aur paun to it that seems to be the problem, and rightly so.

so far the makers of this movie are only using kissing as a way to entice/sell their product to people. Is there anything more to it other than kissing? is kissing really the only selling point of this movie?
Being progressive doesn't mean accepting anything 'western' or anything that was once considered 'wrong', even if unfairly, without any meaning to it.

Ainweyein, Kuching bhi 😆

I think people are not "getting" the concept of the video...No one is forcing anything down your or anyone else's throat...Sir aur paun..really ...are you that thick?...It's a music video which is about how love is love irrespective of age, gender, sexuality, race, religion, physical form...And depicting this through kissing makes complete sense as usually people shy away from any physical intimacy between say a gay/lesbian couple or old people as if they lead sexless lives, just so that the majority ( read straight young ) don't feel threatened or uncomfortable...well guess what ,everyone does it and it is just as normal as when heterosexual young couples do it...If you still don't get it...You are regressive, not to mention homophobic/ageist/insensitive...

And By You, I mean everyone who is protesting against the Kissing parts ( and masking it as being boring/ unnecessary/publicity)...At least acknowledge your own fears , insecurities and biases...
