It was one fo the most evil fights you will see on BW platforms.. HR is being reduced to pulps.. but he keeps getting up to fight to their weaknesses.. every punch, HR is measuring what's their weakness.. and he wins... he cant stand.. and the way he emotes.. high voltage.

Its so disheartening n sad to see people still in India only loves Masala Movies for entertainment but on public forums cry that bollywood dont produce original movies...they just copy shits. But in the end those shits earn 150-200Cr n original movie get such a bad box office reception.
Being an Ardent HR fan...The way things n reports are turning up...It looks like Mohanjodaro is gonna be another Guzaarish. Cinema lovers n critics will praise it but unable to collect huge box office numbers.

With 25% opening...Even if WOM is good...the jump will be around 40% max so touching even 100Cr business looks very tough.

All in all...the movie will be remembered only for HR great performance n it will get him one more Filmfare fare best actor nomination. But at box office its gonna dooomed sadly.

Mohenjodaro

Details :

MOHENJODARO Is Epic Bore

Pluses:

authentic art direction, Hrithik Roshan is outstanding, Pooja Hegde looks pretty, Kabir Bedi is decent, superb action

Minuses:

uninteresting plot, cliche background score, inconsistent direction

Critic Rating:

2/5

Business Rating:

1/5

Verdict:

Watch it for Hrithik Roshan

Detailed Analysis:

Ashutosh Gowariker and Hrithik delivered 'Jodha Akbar' and now they are back with lavish period drama. This is first release of Hrithik in last 22 months.

Plot is simple. A farmer from Amri, Sindh named Sarman (Hrithik Roshan) travels upriver to the largest city, Mohenjodaro, where during a street mishap he saves the life of a beautiful woman named Chaani (Pooja Hegde) who as 'The Chosen One' in service to Sindhu Ma, the goddess of the river which is the centre of their culture, is 'the symbol of Mother Sindhu's grace and blessing.' But Sarman soon falls afoul of the politician Maham (Kabir Bedi) and his son Moonja (Arunodaya Singh) who are seizing power and starting to rule Mohenjo Daro as an empire. To win Chaani, Sarman must defeat Maham and rouse the people to save their city.

Film has cliche plot and screenplay gets boring at times especially in 2nd half. Songs are intolerable and proceedings look too cliche.

Performance wise, Hrithik Roshan is outstanding and Pooja Hegde looks pretty but lacks in acting department. Kabir Bedi is decent but Arunodaya Singh hams. Narendra Jha, Manish Chaudhary and Sharad Kelkar are complete misfit.

Film has crisp editing. Background music is loud. Cinematography is decent, production design is authentic and costumes are apt. Music is bore and looks misfit with the period of the film.

Director Ashutosh Gowariker made couple of big duds and this will add to that tally. He fails to create any emotion for the characters or magic around the bygone era.

Film released today and will open with decent numbers and it should have good week with big Independence Day holiday and Rakhi. Film will be affected by big clash at box office and this looks like another disaster as per huge budget of the film.

http://bollywoodtrending.com/Movie-Review-Mohenjo-Daro/2658

Directed By - Ashutosh Gowariker
Produced By - Siddharth Roy Kapur & Sunita Gowariker
Story & Screenplay - Ashutosh Gowariker
Music - A. R. Rehman
Duration - 150 Minutes
Starring - Hrithik Roshan , Pooja Hegde, Kabir Bedi, Arunoday Singh & Narendra Jha

Rating - 4/5 Stars

Director Ashutosh Gowariker's much awaited " Mohenjo Daro " is an epic adventure - romance film, which is set in 2600 BC at the height of the Indus Valley Civilisation. The film revolves around the story of young Indigo farmer Sarman ( Hrithik Roshan ), who resides with his uncle close to the areas of Mohenjo Daro and travels to the great city. During a street mishap he saves the life of a beautiful woman named Chaani ( Pooja Hegde ) , a high status woman and the daughter of the priest (Manish Choudhary ) he falls in love with Chaani but Sarman soon falls afoul of the politician Maham ( Kabir Bedi ) & his son Moonja ( Arunoday Singh ) who are seizing power & starting to rule Mohenjo Daro as an empire. To win Chaani's love , Sarman must defeat Maham & rouse the people to save their city.. what happens next forms the crux of the story.

Hats off to Director Ashutosh Gowariker , he has done extensive research to develope its script for 3 years & worked with world's top 7 Archaeologists. Ashutosh penned the amazing screenplay with engaging fictional story. His hard work visible in each frame. Brilliant. first half is gripping and bit slow but in second half the amazing fight scene is one of the best fight scenes filmed at recent times in Bollywood. Climax of the film wraps nicely. C. K. Muraleedharan's cinematography is one of Mohenjo Daro's key strengths, specially fight sequence camera captures gloriously, making you feel like you're right out there where the action is. Film's music score is composed by A.R. Rahman, is not type that you take to instantly but yes tracks like " Tu Hai " & " Sindhu Maa " are attracted listeners attention.

Let's talk about Performance -

Hrithik brings his muscular presence & charismatic personality to make the role his own. As Sarman he delivers a career best performance , I cannot think of any other actor who could play this better. As Chaani ,sometimes feisty, sometimes graceful leading lady.

Pooja Hegde is wonderfully restrained and uses her eyes expertly to communicate so much. making this one of her finest outings on screen. Kabir Bedi makes a lasting impression as Maham, besides Hrithik & Pooja , Kabir delivered brilliant performance.

Final Verdict - Mohenjo Daro is a masterpiece which will be celebrated for years to come.

Till now it feels its mostly a massy movie with good action and good cinematography and amazing performance by HR. Great to average reviews. Must pickup very well if audience WOM is good. Now that will be the deciding factor. *Lets wait and watch and hope for the best*

An unusual Bollywood film from the Gowarikar stable.

Congratulations to him for attempting a genre not seen in Hindi films. Those who dislike the usual crap churned out will appreciate this brave attempt.

Acting of Hrithik is super and no other actor could have performed this role to such perfection He excels in the fight scenes ..some never seen before in our cinema.

Mohenjo Daro quick movie review: Hrithik Roshan, Ashutosh Gowariker win on scale, lose on substance

Mohenjo Daro Quick Review, Mohenjo Daro movie, Mohenjo Daro, Hrithik Roshan, Pooja Hegde, hrithik Pooja film, Pooja bollywood debut, hrithik Pooja mohenjo daroMohenjo Daro quick movie review: Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde's Mohenjo movie has been shot on a massive scale.

Hrithik Roshan's Mohenjo Daro is set in the Indus Valley civilisation, something we have all studied in our middle school history textbooks. Courtesy Ashutosh Gowariker, you will get a repackaged view of all those bits and pieces of historical details in his film, Mohenjo Daro.

Be it the seals, the details of internal and international trade, perpendicular streets in a highly sophisticated city, a multitude of professions or the exquisite weights and measures system, the great bath, priest kings, Gowariker has meticulously incorporated them all in his Hrithik, Pooja Hegde starrer.

But in the process of recreating a prehistoric period for a feature film, Gowariker has made history appear almost comical. Half way through the film, neither does it manage to arouse historical curiosity nor is the romance and drama gripping enough to be called a great piece of cinematic art.

Mohenjo Daro and Rustom clash at box office today

However the film's appeal lies in the director s imaginative capabilities. Gowariker makes Mohenjo Daro appear like what a city like Mumbai or Delhi would look like to someone coming from a village for the first time. The film might definitely not be Ashutosh's best, but you have to give him credit for stimulating the imagination.

Where the film fails to work in the acting department. In fact, in some instances, it almost appears amateur. The script is pretty mundane too. Serious history lovers may find parts of Mohenjo Daro amusing. Ardent film lovers will find it tedious and boring.
