Hey Angel welcome to the forum
I am also new here
There were some nice teenage flicks made like Teree Saang, Always Kabhi Kabhi, Sixteen but they went highly unnoticed and their fate doomed.
So I think filmmakers don't want to venture along this line and try to stick to the tried and tested formula as much they can...

I could be totally off base here, but I feel like chick-flicks/ college romances have been relegated to tv shows rather than movies. i remember mjht, dmg, remix, nauc, etc. were all geared toward younger audiences as they dealt with teenage/ college shit. even like one of the biggest tv shows, kaise hai yaariyan dealt with those subjects.

but yeah, i think u deff have a point. i know i really adore the chick flicks sonam makes. i wish there was more of them made. stuff like aisha, khoobsurat, queen are super fun to watch.

im trying to brainstorm here thinking other reasons and maybe its because of the actors? bwood is saturated (imo) with older looking actors rather than younger looking. i mean alia is one of the youngest looking actors and ppl mock her for that all the time and directors don't really take advantage of that fact except for like highway. and even when movies on school/teenage/ college stuff is made, i think there isn't enough creativity. like thinking back on it, student of the year was one of the more explicitly college student movies and it was just horrible fluff. i guess bwood still has a lot to learn about making fun coming-of-age stories rather than just focusing on love stories/ specific actors/ serious dramas/ insane comedies.

I feel the time period which did matter. Now is the time for strong content films, be it either biopics or incidents. However there was no given specific for this genre. Moreover such films can actually do wonders if given a very good script. It has worked for TV and it can work for films
Off topic:-@TM -- Do you visit the Ishqbaaz forum. Because I think have seen u there.😆

You r right!!
But i guess movie production depends upon audience!!
So audience wants that!!
But yeah some teeange movies are may be necessary !!
But then there will be censor board issue !!

Now a days bollywood loosing its charm!!
