After reading SRK's comment at a book launch...it didn't stir as much controversy as Salman's... is this due to normalcy in India regarding women? you can pass any comments towards women and get away? are women in India doormats?

SRK fans of this forum? Nearly all barring one or two condemned the statement in rather strong words.. Its the media who actually brushed it under the carpet and unfortunately did not create a ruckus on it

From what I have seen so far more people have have condemned his statements without any justification or excuses than the other way around. I didn't see them writing he was misunderstood, he didn't mean it, he immediately retracted, or he is what he is so deal with it and by the way this is his box office numbers.

it's all thanks to media..they sensationalized one statement but no effort was made to make the other one as breaking news.some media people did post that they were present and salman retracted his words but it was too late,damage was done and it had already become a National issue.

for srk's statement now after 2 days I saw one lady post this..nothing much on twitter who were abusing salman,his mother,sisters whole family are quiet..anyway what srk said doesn't take away what salman said casue it was WRONG..

Shah Rukh Khan, who is known for his witty one-liners, raised eyebrows recently when he made a comment during an event " at the launch of Gunjan Jain's book 'She Walks, She Leads', which traces the impressive growth and journey of extremely successful women.
The actor, who was giving a speech, noticed that Gunjan stood up while he was talking. As soon as he saw her stand up SRK is reported to have said, "Please don't stand up, even if it's politically incorrect, girls need to lie down when I talk to them. I am joking. Don't take me seriously. I know just for this I am going to be in trouble now," he said with a smile.
Although several of the guests sitting in the audience simply chuckled, some didn't seem too pleased with the statement, which was said in jest. Lawyer and activist Abha Singh was among the few, who went on Twitter to share her thoughts. She wrote, "Attending a book launch in Taj where SRK said something derogatory about women. Hope media takes it up."

You are the one who brought up Salman in this so I am answering you alone

No.. there were more than 2 3 salman fans who were still making excuses.. in fact the matter got bigger when the excuses started rolling in.. I personally indulged in arguments with 4 members who tried to make light of the statement after which it was started k Salman fans were this and that and the matter escalated.. I still do not support the name calling at all but they did bring up all sorts of excuses, some of which Boss ji has actually listed above
