Sometimes supporting actor can completely own the movie.
Lets remember some supporting roles which owned the movie/overshadowed the lead.
Kangana in Fashion: I know nowadays Kangana is hated, and even her best works are thrown asides saying " she was terrible as her dialogue delivery sucks". But if I remember correctly when Fashion came out, Kangana was the surprise star of the movie, while Priyanka was ofcourse praised, Kangana outshining her was the talk of the industry. She even overshadowed Priyanka in Krrish3.
Nawaz in Badlapur: Nawaz almost always steals the thunder. Whether Lunch Box, BB or Talaash, but him in Badlapur was something else, he was absolute gold in every frame. That scene when he threatened Huma's husband is awesome. Anil winning over him in FF for either BB or Badlapur was 🤢
Sunny Deol in Damini: Just one line "tareek pay tareek pay tareek pay tareek".
Annu Kapoor in Vicky Donor: Anu Kapoor brought a whole another level of entertainment an otherwise not appealing screen play. Anyone who saw the movie will remember his character more than Vicky. Even the lady who played Vicky's mother and granny were more enjoyable.
Sadashiv Amrapurkar in Sadak: He was absolutely brilliant and was the talk of the movie. He stole the thunder from the leads and his portrayal of an eunuch was excellent.
Saif ali Khan in Omkara: His Langda Tiyagi will go down in history as one of the greatest of all time. He completely stole the show.
Now the greatest supporting role of all time: Gaabar in Sholay, come on was there even a second thought?? The most iconic role in the history of BW, while Jay-Biru, Thakur, Basanti, Surma Bhopali, Jailor ans many other are still relevant and memorable but can you imagine Sholay without Gabbar?? He was the star of the movie.
