Its completely your opinion and I am not here to argue with it...but seriously? I am hearing this for the first time...Anand is Rajesh Khanna and Rajesh Khanna is Anand...I mean even if you hear the name Anand out of nowhere you think of Rajesh instantly...Or so I have heard from whoever I got to talk about it...

My personal opinion 😆. Isn't it before the rise of the 'Angry Young Man' phase. I think it is a foreshadowing of AbSr the actor which you see today and don't necessarily see in all of his masala movies. I don't know a lot about Bachchan or Rajesh Khanna filmography but I have never been impressed with Anand much because it was a meaty role and easier to sympathize. I think Absr completely stole the thunder in that movie for he stood out for me. But I watched it years later when the movie was out, Absr has reinvented himself as a character actor and in my time his work as an actor is very good so I am also heavily influenced by that possibly.

I watched it years later too just like you, after being a fan of Amitabh's work...But Anand is an iconic role to me in how a simple character without any heroine, macho scenes, dialogs and with simple day to day scenarios can actually lead a movie and make it interesting...

In fact me and my cousins came up with this awesome sequence which makes a lot of sense...*smug look*...First it was DTPH where he dumps his best friend for an outsider then came KKHH where he got back to his best friend and then came K3G where he dumped the girl who tried to come between him and his best friend in the first place...😆
