Not true. Satellite right matters if the distributor is given that right along with the movie when it's sold to them. Or the producer is the distributor.

Or else many hit Eros movies or YRF movies would have gotten average tag, rather than hit tag. Eros pays higher price to producers coz they take the satellite right along with distribution right. Why would they pay a few crore extra if it was not counted?

also i meant in general sense , in other part of world a film status is decided through does it more than double of their production money or not.

a film there can turn profitable through merchandise,blu ray sales, etc money but if it haven't earn a profit on box office.It is considered to be a flop and also major studies don't give out their earning these means.

Only in india , studios have started giving out these details , as to declare their film turned out to be profit as soon as possible.

Also many producers have said that many 100 crore movies didn't turned out profitable for people involved.

So money side of whole thing is still shady in bollywood
