Lastly, I do think that there are many actors in TV industry who would do briliantly in Bollywood.. Iqbal khan and Gaurav khanna for instance.. but these people do not aspire for the same.. After his failed attempt, Iqbal never tried to go down that road again.. Success in Bollywood has to do a lot with being in the right place at the right time along with your talent and unfortunately TV actors do not follow that rule.. They wait for producers to notice them via their work in TV instead of going out there and actually trying to make connections

i used to watch serials like hasratein sailab justajoo they had briliant scipt n solid performances from renuka shahaney shefali harsh chaya this were realy good serials n no nagin or dayan was required to get audience to watch n this serials wld end in abt 2 years which iscorrect but thks to ekta auntie n trps serials have become sas bahu aur bakwas

Interesting topic. A few months back when I got 4 serial channels. And when I 1st started watching the shows on them I was shocked and appalled at the acting caliber on tv. There is only a handful of good actresses on tv who can actually act. What makes it worse is that they all copy the same mannerism in which to act coy, happy, shy these girls dnt do anything different from each another quite frankly they must all have watched Maine pyaar kiya and copied the leads acting from there coz. U could literally swap the characters in all the shows and not know who is from who from the female actors on tv. And then for each channel there is a certain type of face that they want to be shown zeetv that wickle twinkle, lajwanti and sarojini look extremely similar with 2 of the girls actually acting quite similar to 1 another. the roles are too similar to actually judge the acting ability of most of the actresses on tv. And let's not talk about that overhyped non actor dhasti acting the same in every serial she is in just imagine she would have done the same thing in movies. The tv actors though are hot they have really nice characterisation I could easily see a few of them in BW and doing well. I dnt knw whether saying that gurmeet is a flop is correct just yet I think he has a few more movies that will release that are big releases so u never know his fate. He is really hard working and what I love about him is that he always respects both mediums be it tv or BW. The 1 thing though that I feel that the tv actresses have is that most of them are way more beautiful than the BW actresses Shweta, Mouni, Adaa, Tejwashi etc are extremely beautiful girls. Bt I feel that tv actors as well as south stars are not given the same amount of respect that pakistani artist are given in BW. The south stars are used for flower pot roles whilst the pakistani stars are actually given proper roles.

Content is the biggest problem. The Youth in India can easily watch Western shows online so their need for better content is met. These stupid saas-bahu saga's need to end. It seems to be getting worse and worse!

Depends on taking right step at right time and not doing crap movies look at BS, GC , KSG the movies thy chose will get them in endless circle of doing same, rather a small move with god story could do wonders na like say Massan but actors jump and dont wait for right opportunity also over expose themselves

However, I disagree with what people here are saying about TV actors capablities and how they arent any good. Most TV actors are not only better looking than Bollywood heroes...they can also act and dance bettter! I find heroes on the small screen to be alot more better looking than most of our heroes! Iqbal Khan, Rithvik Dhanjani, etc just a few examples of good looks and talent that surpass most film-actors.

TV actresses arent far behind. A lot of them are fricking beautiful! Drashti Dhami and Mouni Roy can give any actress a run for their money! Mouni Roy can act and dance the pants off of every new-gen actress.

Rithvik isnt a good actor IMO , Iqbal is and he did crappy movies that was problem , Drashti isnt as great actress pppl here make her out to be and Mouni is limited too so proble

The ones who do good films. Unfortunately they are not mainstream and fall under the radar.

I guess the crossover is less because BW Is full of nepotism. The producers queue for the khans first no matter what the role is and no matter what the age of the leading lady is and then the movies rejected by them go to the Star kids or new kids who are being launched. The rejects from that then finally go to the aspiring TV actors. So TV actors are down in the line for any movie where do you get good films for them?

main reason is audience are stuck with actors screen image, the make over will be very difficult.
