Why is there such less crossover between BW and TV in India?

TV is thought of as an inferior genre to movies and TV actors are regularly made to 'kiss ass' to movie stars as if they are their devotees. I feel really sorry for TV actors on those reality shows where they literally have to act like Vishnu's tenth avatar is upon them when film actors visit.

Why is there such less crossover between Bollywood and TV? TV and TV actors are looked down upon.

Unlike Hollywood where TV and films are considered more or less on par with each other and actors regularly cross from one territory to the other, why are the gates of BW virtually closed to TV actors? BW doesn't seem to apply this standard to other countries, like Pakistan's TV actors (Fawad, Mahira, Mawra etc), but seems vehemently opposed to sharing actors with its TV industry?

Is it hierarchical snobbery where BW wants to maintain a status quo or is there a legitimate reason behind it?

Opinions?

Tbh, most tv actors today are crap, most of the shows are crap hence they don't get any respect from film personalities or media or the common viewers except the die-hard soap fanatics. Also these tv actors are so awestruck and fanboy over film stars that it gets a bit annoying at times. The actors, directors, writers hardly have the talent to crossover. They are happy making 1234567 episodes , playing the same characters everyday like for 20 yrs, earn big money thru trps ... I have read in the 80s tv was more progressive , with better content, actors, etc and film were regressive now the exact opposite is happening. If the downward spiral doesn't stop, no one (including BW) will have respect or good work for tv people.

The TV actors are mediocre at best. The shows have stories which are unimaginative and same old regressive stuff fed over all channels and serials years on and on. Its a cruel never ending cycle. Its mundane and headache inducing. Since you dont have to pay per episode, no one is bothered. Unlike movies where each show you pay and watch. Hence people are careful of what they want to watch.

Image.

The length these soaps run, people form an attachment/familiarity with the characters. They refuse to let go of that and that image spells doom for actors. MOST of the TV actors find it hard to succeed their success after an extremely successful show coz they are mot allowed to come out of the mould/hangover.

Go to any TV forum and say your show should end and watch how they react to it even if the show is 10 years old!

If there are more finite series/seasons and actors get to experiment with various roles... audience will become more accepting of change/transition.

All tv shows today have more or less the same concepts and even the tv stars are stuck in one image. They don't get much opportunities to play different roles.Bollywood is doubtful whether they can do well in films or not.I guess that's the reason why bollywood looks down upon tv stars.
Secondly, there's lot of nepotism in the industry. Who cares for talented tv stars when u have lot of star kids in the industry? Rajeev khandelwal and Ranbir kapoor debuted in the same year.Look where Rajeev is and where Ranbir is.Ranbir is talented but Rajeev is a much better actor than Ranbir imo.Ranbir has worked in many successful movies whereas Rajeev never got a chance to showcase his talents to bollywood.

The main problem is the stuff that comes on indian TV is horiible horrible horrible...😆

The fact that corny, regressive shows like Saath nibhana saathiya, Sasural Simar ka, IPKKND, Geet are Trp toppers is quite telling ... In a typical hindi serial, the main job of the heroine is to wear garish dresses, be irritating and trip over everywhere so that the hero can catch her. The hero on the other hand sports a beard and broods for 90% of the time..😆

So you can imagine the people hired to work in these shows have little to no talent most of the time..

This was not always the case. There were plenty of Tv actors that went from TV to films and back quite seamlessly.
Irrfan Khan, SRK, Manoj Bhajpai, KK Menon, Sandhya Mridul, Shefali Shah, Suchitra Krishnamoorthy, the Pathak sisters, Milind Soman, R Madhavan, Mandira Bedi etc. come to mind...I am sure I am forgetting a lot more.

But that was in the 80s and 90s when good shows were made and TV actors were just as much respected as film actors.

After Kekta took over in 2000s, Indian tv and its actors lost all value. They are too familiar and mediocre. So it's only natural that the crossover does not happen anymore.

We can't compare Pakistan Telly industry and India reply industry. They are really strong on this medium. It's since ptv started they gave actors like rahat kazmi, marina khan, shenaz shiekh, shakeel, jawed shiekh, behriz sabzwari ,sania saeed, n many more in new generation there are good additions like fawad, sanam b,sanam s,fahad m n many .where as India tv used to be very versatile and good till mid 90s they gave actors like srk. But now serial like sasural sinner ka what do u want NAgins, atmaas, devis, chudails, ML lead is like a mannequin still there are some actors which manage to good job! And grab eye balls.
Rashmi Nasharma and kekta 🤢 ruined India Telly
