Interesting points, yamyam.
@bold- Sushant did get lucky. But what about say, a Barun Sobti or Gurmeet Choudhary who made the jump but couldn't make it? I think BW success is a lot about perception and the right launch vehicle, right backing is needed for actors to work.
In fact, I remember Barun Sobti was mocked for saying he didn't wanna work in TV anymore. People interpreted it as being ungrateful to the genre which gave you fame and success. Now, he is back on TV 'cause BW didn't work out.
I do think the right kind of support goes a long way in BW, which Sidharth Malhotra got, for instance. Otherwise, the lad would be doing TV, as Salman 'advised' him to.
I am sorry if you are a fan of either but I find Barun and Gurmeet to be mediocre actors at best so them not making it doe snot really surprise me
of course he was mocked for his statement.. have you ever listened to SRK or even Sushant talking about their television days? they always do so with the utmost respect.. Barun on the other hand went on a different tangent altogether so he had to pay the price.,
yes, support does play an important role but along with support, it is talent that gets you ahead.. Sushant or even SRK and R Madhavan did not have any support.. it was talent that got them ahead.. it might take a long time but eventually you will be applauded if you have talent, like Kangana.. but you have to ensure that you do not miss out on the opportunities that are presented to you.. if star kids and someone with connections get 10 opportunities, outsiders get one.. and they need to make the best use of it
