About the protest! Srk called for himself. Just like Salman did during BB with tweets on Yakob. And Salman was wrong without a doubt!

Srk fans should stop crying and put blames on others. If your king could be more specific instead of being general in the issue. He went top university to give speech's but then he failed to give speech in his own country. If he was careful with his choice of words and explained it well then this day won't come.

In India they protest on every historical story. JA (serial & movie) had the same issue.

Yeah pretty straight forward that the film is tanking cause of its 'wafer thin plot', isn't that what I said. 😛 Unexpected ruckus was created for PK too, and on a much larger scale. That didn't impede it to go on and become the largest grossing Bollywood film of all time, now did it? Nor did the ruckus during Rab De Bana Di Jodi hinder it from becoming a blockbuster despite releasing 2 weeks after the 2008 Mumbai attacks and with negligible promotion and marketing, at least in comparison with Dilwale. Granted, it's script was not 'wafer thin', but it also wasn't promoted on such a large scale either, nor did it generate the hype that comes with the having India's so called greatest on screen jodi ever (the premise on which the film was promoted). 😃
And what clash really? Before this, Ranveer was being touted as an actor with zilch star power, so to speak, and Deepika was supposed to bring all the audience in for BM. This is not an equal clash then, now is it, especially when you look at the fact that he has only a couple of box office successes to his credit so far and the fact that Deepika has delivered a flop this year with Ranbir despite being touted by her fans as his saviour, underpinned by the notion that only she had the box office pull between her and Ranbir. So after considering all these viewpoints, the fact that SRK fans are blaming clash as the reason for Dilwale severely underperforming only affirms the notion that they think his star power has gone to take a hike? Or have they finally come to the realisation that even their King's presence cannot outweigh the negative impact of a lousy script?

BM, despite the size and grandeur of the film, was still supposed to be no match for Dilwale.
Dilwale had everything going right for it from the very beginning. The stars, the director, the genre, the budget, the songs ect.

It was always a David vs Goliath situation as far as BM and Dilwale was concerned. So the fact that Dilwale, despite all the advantages has not been able to do as well as expected and BM surpassing all expectations, its evident that the audience has chosen a better film.

A few protests don't matter at all. If Dilwale was doing stupendous business, you really think a few shows cancelled in places like Managalore or Pune would have mattered?

Well said. Doubt those markets would've had an impact.

Dilwale, from the trailers looked pretty mediocre to me. I wouldn't pay a dime to watch that in the theaters. IMO SRK & Kajol look pretty terrible now and Varun is a good DVD actor. BM on the other hand looked magnificent. I still have to post my review, it was indeed an amazing film.

So SRK fans who have high morale authority, advocated on boycotting Sooraj, Bhai movies. When it comes to SRK movies, commerce is involved. I don't agree with what is happening in India, but ppl have the right to protest and show ... , just like SRK fans have the right to boycott Bhai movies. Well hopefully, things will settle down. If the movie is good, it will pick up later.

And want to say not on protests but talking on numbers bajrangi had only 257 theaters (less then dilwale) bajrangi did well on wom..s and many holly movies with it that were a craze and bahubali with 236 ( less then dilwale) too but in usa theaters dont matter its not like india, we dont have single screens but theaters so srk could have released the same as bm you want to see a movie you can and prdp had spectre with it, ce did better with less screens abd dilwale had 268 per mojo so it more then both bajrangi and bahubali but ye bm had more in usa .. But then again bajrangi had less then dhoom 3 but beat it in usa..in uk it beat pk with less theaters

Since you not even know that how we believe its everywhere when news mentioned some then bm too would be having isdues right?

I wasn't planning to watch either of these films. I hated the Dilwale trailer, I knew this film was going to be awful I am not going to like it. As much as the BM trailer impressed me I was planning to watch it base on good reviews and strong WOM. I watched it late Friday night and am planning to watch it again tomorrow. I respect and appreciate all 3 Khans work but SRK still is yet to make a come back and impress me with a good film. All of his recent films are Bakwas. Salman already did that with BB for this year, that was a brilliant film. I hope SRK give something good next year.

Here in my place there is no political agenda.. And Dilwale is suffering due to bad WOM.. And it's because of the story and script ..

People were opting for BM in the weekends 😳
