THIS 👏 👍🏼.

People who are corrupt, take bribes, give bribes, kill , steal, rape are the ones who are anti-national...not someone who expressed their frustration at the current state of affairs...😛

Is they any country in this world which doesn't have this 1% of intolerant bunch?

No, it is not fair to call the entire country intolerant.
But we definitely cannot turn a blind eye to the 1% who are resorting to such means and causing unrest. It's very unnerving and media has a big part to play in this...a huge part infact! I Apart from those elements involved in atrocious acts, media plays an equal part in sensationalizing and spreading fear in the hearts of the many. I really wish people from all walks of life ban media. Don't go for the debates, don't participate in fear-mongering that media resorts to nowadays, don't participate in the media trials that happen these days. Get back to the old doordarshan kinda way of delivering news. Let people decide for themselves and create their own opinion about the happenings in the world.

Turning the blind eye is not a solution neither is resorting to exaggerating it and making blanket statements...In that sense Aamir definitely crossed the line...Media is a sleazebag in India and he knew it, still he wasn't careful in choosing his words...What's worst, he didn't even correct them when he got the chance...

Couple of points after reading all posts here.

Critizing Aamir's statement is different from the manner its being criticized. Most posts do not consider that fact.

If Aamir's statement is wrong and tarnishing the image of India then burning effigies, riling up people against a person by so called "desh bhakt" people are not upholding it either.

Aamir is not holding any position in this country but the politicians(MPs, MLAs) are. To prove Aamir wrong or to disagree with his statement just a declaration of an official statement was enough. Why so much protest or dharnas? Also Aamir may be richie rich but he is no Mukesh Ambani that he can get away with everything. He has invited criticism by an lets do it in a civil manner.

Loving your country is one thing but malign everyone just for giving an opinion (whatever extreme it may be) is something else. I am paying taxes for progress of my country, not to spend if after people who would seat in front of a star's house chanting hai hai all day or spend time on social media.

Why cant our politicians just move on and focus on real issues and do some actual work rather than wasting time and money of all of us by protesting against a dumbest idiotic statement by a celebrity?

Really a sorry state of affair.

P.S - NRIs may be still enamored by Modi but he is losing sheen day by day in India. Its a fact. I hope he wakes up soon and takes control from the radicals.

People have some really different notions etched in their brains about democracy 😆

According to them it is their right to give gaalis openly and degrade their country, keep asking for reservations , keep spewing venom about the leaders and the people in majority/minority, keep doing any freaking thing because YEAH WE ARE THE LARGEST DEMOCRACY and democracy means only enjoying your right of Freedom of Expression🤪

Do they forget that to enjoy those rights you have to perform certain duties also? Keep the dignity of your country intact and stop exaggerating topics like these all the time. On one hand you promote tourism and ask people of India to paint a brighter picture of the country, on the other hand you project your country like it's Syria👏

If he cannot perform his duties the he has NO RIGHT to enjoy the rights also.

India's dignity is compromised not by Aamir's statement but by the reaction to it.

Aamir has all the right to express his opinion, but he is a celebrity and he has to measure his words. He cannot be compared to an ordinary citizen, if people like you and me say something, it doesn't get sensationalized by the media and get people into a frenzy. But if Aamir says anything, that becomes a national headline. This is the price of being a celebrity and it applies to all of them, not just Aamir. If he can enjoy the stardom, why can't be handle the responsibility of being a star?

Besides, I still feel that his statement, no matter in what context it was said, was essentially alarimist and exaggerated. Why does Kiran feel scared for her child in India? She has tons of money, she possibly has the best kind of security one can afford and she is in a powerful position, being a superstar's wife. Who the hell is going to harm them? Can her child be kidnapped? Can she be waylaid and harassed by anyone? Has any Hindu mob even come 100 meters near her till date? Does she or her family even step out of the Car when they go out? Then? What is this imaginary thing that she is scared of?

If someone has to feel insecure in India, they are the ordinary citizens, irrespective of religion. The one without money and power. If an ordinary musilm says that he is scared for his or her child in today's atmosphere, one can still understand. But someone like Aamir Khan saying this is complete bullshit.

I for one don't buy into his fake tears and ploys. He is manipulative, cunning and a total scum-bag. Everything that comes out of his mouth is nothing but a lie. There is hardly any doubt that the entire thing was orchestrated by Aamir for publicity. He needs to stay in news to compete with SRK and Salman till Dangal releases. All the causes he took up earlier were dumped as soon as his films got released. What about his Narmada bachao andolan? What happened to that? And has he ever done anything concrete to help the people who came on Satyameva Jayate?

Won't brand him a nationalist or anti-nationalist, but as a human being, he sucks eggs.

How aamir expressed himself & the words he chose were definitely stupid but shiv sena doing mock funeral & most of bjp namoones r getting on my nerves...
Though evn I still stand on my previous comment tht I hate ppl of other countries pointing at India without them being living here & thts why I disliked aamir statement coz he gave them chance . Being a popular celeb his comment gave chance to other country ppl to generalise India' population condition & how ppl will c India & Indians..

PS- somebody needs to hit shiv sena & bjp k kuch namoone on head hard & modi needs to come back B4 he becomes chai wala agn..
