I think SB n Salman knew they made a not so good product n that's why they went for such an all out promotion!

Excess promotion leads to disappointment!

Rajshri films require a lead pair that they can connect to. Salman Sonam failed to do that I suppose.

Raanjhana was also not a potboiler you know, one of the major reasons why Raanjhana worked was because the direction and dialogues were outstanding, whereas PRDP seems to have weird dialogues and bad direction too..

moreover, sonam-salman lacking good chemistry is also an outcome of the fact that their age difference is so obvious , moreover, sonam playing a sugary sweet role and getting panned by the critics is already a big let down.

I agree, Rajshri films never had a solid story line, but still those films had a heart i think, and music was great too.. As you have pointed that out, the title song was so frigging lame and infact it was embarrassing .. sonam made it so awkward..

and since last 10 years, the only film salman was good is Bajrangi bhaijaan .. he has lost his onscreen charm too with bulged up body and something is really wrong with the face, i mean he was so charming even couple of years back, what happened to him ..?

coming back to family ignorance, i think it is again wrong to blame the whole genre, its more about the illogical execution of the plot which does not offer anything new. i mean duplicate replacing the real prince and winning over the family, how much realistic and new ? they played more on the glam factor and forgot to insert a really family connecting emotions in the film, that is why families found it forced .

I know my friends' mummys and grand mothers have called the film a bore.

i kinda agree with u and the mockings of the dialogue when trailer out in PRDP thread"Har family mei problem hai..par woh kushmasib hai jinke family hoti hai" shows how much people care for family values !

Because its a pretty mediocre product, simple as that...

It earned all that money because of the hype they created with Sooraj-Salman comeback and what not...If it did not have Salman in it, the movie would have had a even worse fate...I bet even the Salman fans who are going gaga about the movie now, would have felt free to state their honest opinion about the movie...
