PRDP was not that bad a movie. The story was cliche, but decent. The music did fairly well, the setting was fantastic. Sonam and Salman clicked too.

The problem is that the movie was promoted way too much across all mediums, from TV promos and social media to music, Sooraj Barjatya, "return of Prem from 90s" - connecting the movie to HAHK and HSSH, solo release for Diwali, big budget movie etc.

All the above reasons resulted in a significant increase in expectations from the movie. People began believing it would be yet another family-oriented blockbuster with an emotional touch to it.

Fortunately or unfortunately, when the movie released, everyone's expectations went down the drain. But why? Because they expected too much from it in the first place!

Instead of watching the movie as a first preference for Diwali, I decided to wait and read the reviews first. As I read plenty negative reviews on Twitter, I first reduced my expectation from the movie. Trust me you, when I watched the movie, I did in fact enjoy it! Yes, the climax was pretty much cliche, but where do you find entirely original movies in Bollywood anyway.

Salman and Sonam both acted fairly well. All in all, I don't think the movie deserves the negative critique it received. Keeping aside monetary success, the movie is not a super hit, but it's not a shit flop either. It's a good entertainer.

Instead of finding out why fawad is bashed, you should have taken the urge to find out why Salman and his fans are bashed here .. That would clarify a lot of things for you .

I'm sure that you don't know how to defend the film otherwise it's lame to call upon fawad fans here in this forum ..

Nope - promotions for PRDP began almost one month before it's release here in England.

It's not about tours or concerts, it's about general publicity TV promos, TV show appearances, reality shows, so much was done to increase the hype.

I don't want to post my review, I was just discussing my opinion on the general take of the movie.

I didn't say it was a flop, hence my words "keeping aside monetary terms".

I very much appreciate Salman Khan as an actor, he's fabulous. This is my view on PRDP, not Salman.

Personally feel that the biggest reason is Sonam...the real life reactions around me to Sonam has always been .."ladki main heroine jaisa kya hai?!" she lacks charm, grace, dancing skills, proper dialogue delivery, heck even her beauty or fashion sense is massively overrated on this forum..and then they take her as beauteous princess in a Rajshri Movie..!🥱 sigh! she dint bring anything as expected from Rajshri heroine to the plate..

2) Salman-Sonam chemistry sucked BIG time! ZILCH X FACTOR! ive come to the conclusion now..that she rocked with Dhanush in Ranjhanna only coz Dhanush can create chemistry with anyone at all..

IDEK why everyone is saying story wasnt coherent..since when did Rajshri movies have an intelligent storyline?😆 they are always supposed to be happy go lucky family entertainers..and PRDP screenplay was all about that..

Salman actually wasnt bad as Prem..and the PRDP title song (🤢) was a big hit actually..

I think its because of the Family premise plot of the movie , because there is dimishing value of family ,family values etc in Indian society and majority of the big city crowds dont identify with that and the trend in India is majorly that anything that talks of values etc is termed dated and regressive , pseudo modern India doesnt identify with it and thats pretty clear from the business aspect of the movie where its done very well abroad and in the tradional areas /small cities in India.

Considering that , the expectations should have been kept realistic entertainers dont do 300crs business and if u know that then PRDP has performed well and not under performed.

I feel it was not handled well . Sooraj's movies always had emotional connect but this time it felt forced .

I would disagree since i found HSSH to be forced and badly handled and this was way way better as a product .I am discounting Main prem Ki deewani hoon since i dont even consider it a rajshri product 😆
