Agreed with Salim Sir.
India is not what few 1-3 people speak aloud in media .its how 1.25 billion people live each day... Coexisting ..yes we do have issues..
But since it is democratic nation...these issues are raised and addressed too...

Which country's minority population increased..n where will u even find rare of rarest religions...

Hoping that now media will stop this propaganda against Modi Govt..

India might be a 'great' place for it's minorities but it's still a shithole for the lower castes. Lower castes still face a lot of prejudice and it's a rather shame that the country can't fix that. Every day you'll read an article or two about villages in UP where even cops don't want to help these people. Sad.

As far as intolerant incidents; India runs on autopilot system and it corrects itself when such things happen, irrespective of its ruler. 10 years back, a Christian priest was burnt alive. But that was a rare case. Not routine. Similarly this one. We will find a way out, whether our PM is Modi or Deve Gowda.

I don't know too much about Indian system but from what I know I believe in what you say. It is upsetting to see the rise of intolerance in India right now but I think over time it will be corrected. Unlike India's 4 other neighboring countries, Indian public speak up for the rights of their religious minorities.

This is true. I read numerous articles about this due to a friend who works against Dalit discrimination. Dalits are in the worst situation. Nobody even talks about them yet it happens all the time!

Lower castes just need to say that they've been insulted and the supposed offending party will be doing court rounds for aeons, no proof required.

Did you miss the follow up story where forensic reports said that the fire in the dalit's house that was tomtommed by the media, was triggered from the inside?

I don't know if you're an NRI but you've no idea how privileged lower castes are nowadays. And the few incidents off not sharing plates in some schools probably happen because of resentment.

Their underage daughters are raped in broad daylight by the higher caste jaats and police take no action. To top it off, they'll be threatened and socially outcasted by the village. It only comes to the forefront when the media gets involved. Why should it become a national case before these people get justice?!

Watch this documentary. This breaks my heart. If there's one major thing that is holding India back, it has to be it's caste system.

I do think that minorities are treated better in India than in a lot of other countries .. but honestly, SK is just sucking upto the political class to save his son's ass.
