who says he is unlucky...IMHO he is the luckiest actor in Bollywood currently... I have loved some of his movies...as an overall package nothing about him appeals me anymore...he is just OK...as far as this movie is concerned nothing about it appealed me in the first place so I will definitely give it a miss...will watch this one if I have the time.

I still don't understand why this forum is so quick to put an actor or actress down.

The film opened to decent numbers. Not every film has to match the Khans's business or be 100 crores.

At least give it a week to see where it goes.

As for the reviews, those hardly matter for BO. I don't think R Rajkumar got good reviews either but it was profitable.

He is very lucky on the contrary. Just 2-3 clean commercially successful movies in more than a decade long career, yet he is considered an A- lister, continues to get solo lead movies and manages to get work with top actresses and acclaimed directors. I don't think any other actor has got this many chances.

and its a madcap to invest 80cr on him they should have kept the budget around 50cr

agree not every movie has to do 100 cr but shandaar budget is too high ( read lot of articles its around 80 cr)
so it need more than 100 cr .forget about critics but lot of pepple on fb twitter dint like it and even trade analyst are calling it flop
this movie is getting same reaction from internet audience likw Bv and brothers got

Shahid signed this movie 6 months before the release of Queen and Haider. He was still having issues with choosing the right scripts then.

People came to the theatre to watch him and Alia ...Shahid got what he was looking for. His highest opening. Maybe more, cause I saw him fav*ing someone's tweet wishing for 15 cr. 😆 I hope he learned his lesson and concentrates on the right kind of scripts from here on. The more people put him down, the more he tends to rise.

I don't think, it's right to blame the actors cause if the movie was good it would have done a much better business. The point is people did go to see it and I don't even see a single review where he was bashed for his performance. In fact people liked him more than Alia. So if people say he doesn't have a proper audience pull ... I think, he does with the right movie.

And PS, KJO didn't invest this much money on Shahid. They invested it on the director after the release of Queen because they didn't have the money to make the movie to begin with.

I don't get the logics. The way people tend to blame the actors like they are the ones who directed. Even from this much, Shahid's still taking something away. The saddest part of this whole situation is ... Shahid'd need to wait some years for his commercial hit, if ever. His next three movies are performances oriented. I doubt they are made for BO.

^^ It's wrong to blame the actors for a movie's lame script and screenplay but it's a part and parcel of a system where an actor gets the maximim credit when a movie succeeds. People don't even acknowledge writers, editors, screenplay writers, cinematographers when a movie succeeds, so we can't expect them to be blamed if a movie doesn't perform. For blame to be shared, the credit also has to be shared which rarely happens in Indian film industry. It's all about the actors.
