I don't know who you are a fan of or not.

But like many have said here, Sridevi was known as the biggest superstar during 1983-1997... yet most of her films have been flops.

So my point is: your theory is wrong.

Well since many have said that, you should have quoted those people and explained why they were wrong instead of quoting me.

I did say that it was MY PERCEPTION didn't I? My perception is based strictly on my years of existence...and in my little existence I have realized that whoever has had a commendable BO success rate (SRK, Salman, Aamir, Kat, DP etc) are known as superstars. So my apologies that you feel my theory is wrong but for me it's not.

You are free to formulate your own theory based on your perception, k?

Well I don't know if you existed in 1999... but "Aish mata" had 2 of the biggest hits of the year. In 2000 she was in the year's 2nd biggest hit. 2002's biggest grosser. Not to mention 2006 + 2008's biggest blockbusters.

So like I said, your "perception" is coming across as hot air.

So 6 out of however many movies she did were successes. That doesn't prove my theory wrong...in fact it just proves me right on how pathetic her BO rate is. The superstars of today have more than 6 successful films.

Sridevi, with bloated Rishi Kapoor and a crappy script of reincarnation made The movie Nagina a hit, just with a dance "Mei Teri Dushman".

Madhuri, with an equally handsome hero (was his name Sanjay Kapoor) and an equally crappy script made the movie "Raja" a hit with "Akhiya Milaoo Kabhi Akhiya Churaoo".

To say any of today's actress as a superstar, provide her Tushar Kapoor or Uday Chopra as a hero, give a no brainer script and ask them to give a hit.

Only speaking of Bollywood, she is not too successful. And I am not talking just BO. She is very limited as an actress as well. No matter her beauty, one is hardly ever drawn to her in a frame.

Jazbaa might be generating a lot of buzz but in the past, I have never seen people get excited just seeing Aishwarya Rai in a film. Neither do I see people missing her the way they miss Kajol, Madhuri, etc. I know Madhuri didn't have a successful comeback in Bollywood but people do miss her from her prime, something I don't see happening for Aish.

Strictly speaking of her work as a Bollywood actress, she is forgettable. She'll be remembered for the things mentioned in the main post.

well she is not definitely in the league of Madhuri and Sridevi...but I still rate here in the top 5. Obviously I'm not talking of yester years female actors
