It's just a fantastic way to feed into people's insecurities and make them spend more

The problem isn't even about them being light or dark. If you shave, the stubbed hairs WILL make your armpits look darker.. its like yeah you shouldn't have hair there.. oh you've removed it, but its still ugly, fix that shit

f**k it 😆 ain't nobody got time for dat

Doesnt make sense to me. making fairness products is nothing new to India, nor other asian countries. Its old as the ancient civilizations...then they used to make paste of turmeric, milk, sandalwood, other herbs. In later 19th century they started using lemon, besan, tomato. And now they use fair and lovely. What is the difference except the ingredients being used. Anu didnt like her face shape, lips, so she went and changed it. In fact took extreme steps to do so. Girls with thin hair who want thick hair get extensions, hair transplants. girls who have too much body facial hair go and get a wax. Each to their own. A way to get the look you aspire to have but nature didnt gift you with.
Its something i diont understand, this whole 'fairness crams are wrong' funda.

They are wrong because they are literally telling girls that if you are not fair, you are not beautiful.
I once saw an ad which was like a girl has dusky complexion and a guy rejects her for that. She uses a cream and becomes fair, and he accepts her. So this is fed into the minds of girls that people only want gori chitti girls and you should be that way. It is extremely racist.

I get what you say and i totally agree those ads are wrong.
But an ad which has a girl showing a girl who is darker than what she wants to be, getting fairer by using a product..i think thats fine. Its like those weight loss ads, breakfast cereals which promise weight loss etc..because people have different desires..girl A may Be pretty cool with her obesity, girl B might have a deep desire to be skinnier, hence she will try and get the products which promise weightloss and since she wants these, ads wil endorse those.

Obviously an ad which shows an obese girl being rejected for matrimony is not right, but pushing a weight loss product for someone who wants such is fine, i think.

Someone may get parachute oil, because they saw it on tv. Same thing.

Then why are there no creams to become 'duskier'? No cream called 'Dusky & Lovely'? Oh right, they're not because dusky is bad.. fair is good - that's what is taught 😆 and needs to be changed because it hurts a LOT of girls who no matter what can never become white-skinned/fair and start feeling that they are inferior to the fair girls.

Believe me, when girls DEMAND duskier skin by rubbing things in their skin to get duskier, companies will also sell and endorse dusky and beautiful creams. They are pitching whatever sells.
They already have tanning lotions in shops. For those who want to tan safely in the sun. And brown sun screen.

Also, its easier for fair girls to get tanned by just walking or staying in the sun, than it is for darker skin to get lightened.

Anyway, theres this post, and theres those posts (not by you) in threads critisicing fair Katrina for walking around with a tan. 😆

Oh yeah I've seen them.. people like pale Katrina for some reason 😆 Maybe they are used to to Katty looking pale and feel that maybe her features don't look good with tan, are as attractive or something..
