No it is not. DP acted good.

But Bhaskor for me was the star. more than Bhaskor's cribbing, I really liked his liberating views on Marriage & Women in general.

AB Sr was so fantastic.. 👏

Also, its not as deepika is the first one to get most of the credit for successful movies .. the likes of Katrina get credit for success of multistarer movies like MBKD and NY..

Males also got most of credits all the timea for the success of movies .. its rarely that females leads got recognation for movies success

Exactly! When a movie is a hit, all the credit is given to lead actor even if the lead actress had an important part and did great acting!
But when giving credit to a lead actress in a movie, everyone is busy taking away her credit. Inherent misogyny in the Hindi movie watching populace.

The reason why Piku is called female centric is because Piku/ DP is the PROTAGONIST!
The title character!
Like Don...SRK was the protagonist, the TITLE character. Even though PC, Boman had big roles in it, its SRK's movie.
Similarly, Piku is DP's film, shes the protagonist. AB and Irrfan are supporting roles. She doesnt have a conventional male lead in the film. Piku and Rana's romance is subtle and theres a suggested relationship at the end.

Yes it was. People are having a hard time digesting that Deepika was the protagonist.

As its a non conventional movie so for success both deepika , amitabh try to take credit for it. Thats why all those cold war and party-party game in between both of them.
This movie is not all centered around deepika , its a central plot of a father-daughter relationship , road trip and along with them in their journey Irfan play important role . So this movie belongs all those 3 characters and just bcoz movie name is piku its not a woman centric movie. I like Irfan , at least like amit, deep , he did not indulge in all these PR war and carving for taking credit for a movie.

PIKU and TWMR...are not women oriented movies...yes they do have an equal and strong role for the female lead...but no way can there male counterparts be ignored and call the movie...woman oriented...that is absolutely bullshit of the nth degree...

Would you say the same abt the male dominated movies where the heroine had an equally strong role?

In those, the hero gets all credit for its success and its called a Khan movie or a HR movie or Akki movie. Where does the female lead's credit go then?
