So my friend & I were having a discussion about open relationships/open marriages & I wanted to know what do people generally feel about this topic?
According to gossips & rumors, a lot of BW celebs are in open relationships. Hrithik-Suzzane (when married), Arjun-Mehr, SRK-Gauri etc have been rumored to be in open relationships according to gossip columns & the media does try to portray it as something very frequent & normal in the industry, although I do think it's really exaggerated & made juicy for their columns.

So yeah what do you guys think about this? Do you think it's fine as long as both partner's agree to it? Especially open marriage's? Or do you think these kind of relations are violating the age old traditional institution of marriage & commitment? Please refrain from the 'to each his own' kind of comments if possible because of course it's an individual's choice but I really want to know what views do people have regarding this 😳

It is perfectly fine
who are we to judge

All on consent. If the consent to cheat is there from both parties..it is all good

Why do you feel it's cheating if consent is involved? If the other person is giving the permission to sleep around, how does it become cheating?

In such relations, IMO the cheating part comes in when emotional attachment with the third person is involved. Of course like you said to each his own.

I've never been in an open relationship, so I have no idea how it feels. I would say only the ones in an open marriage know best through experience, so it is really none of my business to comment/judge/condemn them and I don't believe in condemning them citing ancient customs and traditions.

If it works for both involved in the relationship then why not? What's the harm in it?

All three are terrible

H-S divorced
A-M rumours about divorce
S-G rumours about PC and then AbRam came into the equation

I hope open marriages are not judged on the basis of these three.

That is a very sensible comment

I wanted to use a more appropriate word.

@tennant: I agree with you & mostly have the same views. If it works for both the parties involved then what's the harm? Although I don't think it's something that would work for me & I think it's going to remain the same.
Agreed on the 3 examples too. I just put them in there so that the discussion is relevant to BW forums 😆 Although if you think about it, all 3 had complete freedom to spend their lives the way they wanted to & still they are unhappy in their marriages (according to rumors of course). Wonder what it takes to make a marriage successful.

@cougartown: Thank You.

I think if both people in the relationship are fine with it being open , then I see no problem. Personally however I would never be able to be in an open relationship cause I would die of jealousy 😆
