it underperformed becoz

its not something tht many ppl can relate to - cruise lining/rich family issues...

not a great cast - priyanka anushka and ranveer all of them looks mismatched, though anushka ranveer did have good chemistry in BBB here they don't have much to do...

poor music !

not great word of mouth...

The only best thing that this movie didn't flop like i thought. it may not be a profitable venture for anyone but atleast, its safe sailing can bring some relief to its makers. that's all

It didn't fail. It was a hit overseas. But apparently NRI and overseas audiences don't count.

Zoya's filmmaking is more western and you can see she's heavily influenced by Woody Allen. There's a lot of tongue-in-cheek sarcastic rumor that not cued in like in tyically masala films.

I till date say, if the music was better the film would have had a bigger opening and probably a larger pull. For me, it was a notch better than ZNMD just b/c Zoya actually wrote 2 well-developed adult characters and gave Shefali a career-defining role.

I have always loved the way Zoya sketches her characters and in her films you end up loving the characters more than the actors .. And I believe she is the best female director in Bollywood ..

I so want her to direct Fawad , he's her kind of actor, the sophistication, class and intelligence

PC's tweets after watching the film were nervous/wary. She didn't think it would do well. That was a big hint.

Bad editing, screentime wasted on the boring Ranveer-Anushka story abd not enough given to the more interesting other stories, bad music, and terrible climax were things that went wrong. The last 10-15 minutes of a film can't be bad because that's what audience walks away with... abd here Zoya royally screwed up with that. I got her message and point but it was a bad way to make it.
