I think the concept of Superstardom is really overrated.

If a film works, everyone jumps on the star's bandwagon. Nobody thinks about how the MUSIC, PROMOTIONS, PRODUCTION, and most of all, GENRE affects a film's first day collections.

Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani releases and Ranbir becomes a superstar. BV releases and he's a flop actor.

Nobody thinks that Yeh Jawani Hai Diwani had a popular genre, two happening stars romantically paired, and SUPERHIT MUSIC.

And Bombay Velvet had a dark theme and the story really wasn't connecting with audiences in the promos.

The only superstars we have right now are the Khans. PERIOD.

Aamir took a dark and slow themed movie like Talaash and made it open big.

Shahrukh can take even the weirdest looking movies like Ra.One and they get record opening,

And Salman can sit on a toilet seat for 3 hours and people will throng to watch him.

Akshay, Hrithik and Ajay are on and off. Gets massive openings if they do the right movies.

Same with Ranbir.

They're conditional superstars. They have the star power, but they need the support of the music, screenplay, dialogues, and trailers.

Ranbir hasn't even achieved that - WOM based megahit.

Grand masti even had certain ratings which meant only adults could watch it . Yet it out performed BV . That's just pathetic 🤣

Why every this and that having two n a half hits are being considerd superstars these days?

It took AB sr. Rajesh Khanna , Srk, Salman, Aamir yrs of wrk and back to back hits to become superstars. Ranbir doesn't even have enough number of releases to match number of hits AB sr. has given so how are these two same on the stardom scale???

Why are you making me defend RK? I don't even like him.

Come on, everyone has flop movies. I don't think he's a superstar and I do also believe he was given this tag too quickly. Nonetheless, he has a lot of potential and it takes years and years to make a superstar. He hasn't even been in BW for 10 years.

Is there any1 doubting BB, PRDP of salman, Raees, Fan od srk, Dangal of Aamir or MD of HR?

Some of them may under perform... but not a disaster of monumental size.

Now, ppl r doubting the big budget movies of the younger lot. Why? Coz no amount of PR will bring public to cinemas. Work harder and get ur name that sells itself.

Its high time every star slices their fees. Not that they disclose how much they charge anyways.

So, most if not all agree that Ranbir is not a superstar.
