They don't necessarily put up statues to honour legends.

You think it is a coincidence that Mahatma Gandhi is the only one who is not from sports and entertainment?

It's business and big bucks.

Rajinikanth also deserved a statue of his. As did Dilip Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Madhubala, Sridevi etc.

But it is more of a popularity contest now. Don't be surprised if Ranbir Kapoor gets a statue next without even completing a decade in industry.
