So all in all, both of them seem to have equally endearing/difficult characterizations.

I just don't understand the need to make Kareena's Geet sound inferior to Rani?

Watch ANY generic Tamil film where the girl has no role. What's the one singular quality she must have, aside from looks? --> bubbly

It's not a need to make Geet inferior, just an opinion that it wasn't that grand a role, and it didn't make me feel a lot in terms of endearment towards someone. Rani's character did that a lot more

Kareena was mind blowing in JWM...but only in the chatterbox part...the latter where she was playing a sad character was just ok. No great shakes.

Kareena was FLAWLESS in Jab We Met. Not only was it her best performance, but it was one of the best performances of the last 100 years.

the biggest difference I see, is that Kareena as Geet was very obviously lovable. Like, she makes cute jokes, has a cute smile, is rancidly bubbly, high on life kinda girl, easy on the eyes. She's a bit of a badass too since she's planning one eloping, so has that thrill-seeker appeal too

Rani in Queen, IMO, was more of a loser. Like she's quiet and has loser-like silly thoughts "omg god help me for my first night of sex" "i gave my phone to Chintu, why isn't he taking pictures? I have to upload them on FB".

If you knew these 2 girls in real life without knowing their back stories, who would you be more drawn to initially?

Kangana makes a loserish girl very lovable. This isn't as easy.
