I think people are forgetting that we come from a culture that doesn't look highly upon an actress/singer/dancer as a profession. Our parents would shun those careers away saying that what can you gain out of them. They want their children to grow up to be doctors, lawyers, IT professionals, engineers, etc. There are many parents of Bollywood stars that have not been happy with the decision of their children entering the film industry. We come from a grounded culture. Look at us Gujjus in specific. How many successful ones do you see in the industry? Not many. That's just because of the deep grounded culture we have. It's natural for Deepika's parents not to be happy about her decision to step into the industry. But that doesn't mean they won't take pride in her accomplishments.

Like everyone said Family upbringing is very important. In DP's case she comes from a very grounded and humble family, and she mentioned in one of her interviews that she was very shy and introvert as a kid. That kind of reflects in the way she carries herself and speaks. I have never seen arrogance on her face, or the pride that I am at the top.

to judge what they are like, all you have to see is their ACTIONS. All these celebs have said things in different channels, let's judge them by that rather than how CUTE their eyes look.
