To add to the discussion, my favorite is 7G too..Its such a poignant film..The concept, the climax, emotional connect- it was all so well done..There is this one scene where the lead's dad is proud of him & gushes about his son assuming he has fallen asleep- that one scene made me cry buckets the first time i watched the film..And it has some of the best songs ever..Oh & Vikram is not underrated..He is considered to be a brilliant actor..Its just that Surya does more films & at regular intervals compared to Vikram..I'd go as far as saying Vikarm is one of the best actors out there..Better than Surya & Dhanush IMO 😆

Same. My favorite scene. 😊

Oh, coming to Simbu...don't judge me but I used to love him in that Manmadhana nee song. That was one weird movie and went over my head the first time I watched it...but that song...I used to love that song. 🤣

So now when I see Vijay's trashy films being appreciated, I'm like W*F! I don't see anything in that guy. No style, no looks, no acting. Nothing. I didn't even enjoy thupakki, thanks to him. 😆

Yeah that was the phase when Vikram did commercial films & did them well too..He does them now too but he is just not as successful..I thought Shankar's film would do what Anniyan did for him but it turned out to be a disaster..Not a patch on Anniyan 😆 On that note, i love Anbe-Sivam..Gorgeous gorgeous film <3

Vikram is my favorite actor in Tamil. He made so many bad choices after Anniyan. Majaa, Bheema, Kanthaswamy etc were terrible. Surprising 'cos he was really good with his film selection before that. Else he'd be as big as Ajith and Vijay in terms of star power. Even Surya overtook him while Vikram rejected Kakha Kakha, Ghajni etc. Doesn't like Vijay at all. He does the same kind of movies and very limited actor.

That was actually some kind of a turning point in the film..I think thats the first time he understood his dad..Its such a well written scene- the way he cries himself to sleep..Gah, i remember how much i cried the first time i watched it 😆

That film was a rage back in the day..Never got the hype about it cos it was one utterly weird film..And he looked borderline psychotic 😆

Kadhal Kondein sorta creeped me out tbh..It was a good concept & i loved the climax but i'd choose 7G over it any day..It was the better film IMO 😆 Oh & Simbu is freaking annoying but he can be good provided he is under a good director..I really liked him in Vinnaithandi Varuvaya( Hindi version of Ek Haseena Thi)..Its the only film of his i have liked & Selva is a good director so he might do well for all we know 😆

As a concept, definitely 7G rainbow colony would have an upperhand, i mean obviously a tragic love saga is anytime better than a Pyschopathic thriller.. Kadal konden was supposed to be creepy i believe, some scenes were freaky as krackjack has mentioned , the film actually excels because it does show how child abuse can be lethal and be miserable ..

7G is heart breaking, its more like an ode to love , yuvan shankar is gem and enuff said ...

well Simbhu, the face itself annoys me, and I am not sure if he can deliver wjat a selvaraghavan hero needs to deliver in terms of performance ...

i am a selvaraghavan fan, i infact watched the bengali remakes of both kadal konden an 7G and both the remakes had the same hero..LOL ...

And yes, my fav selva film is still mayakkam enna, that was something i never watched, yes nobody died, nobody even spoke much, something haunting it was... I hope Selva teams up with Dhanush soon, they need to do something soon ..

Yea, it was a very touching scene. The guy who played his dad used to play typical villain roles in Malayalam flicks I was surprised to see that side of him in 7G. Very good actor.Climax almost had me in tears as well. I seldom felt the pain of missing someone in a movie like I did with Sonia's character.

Vijay and Simbhu .. its sad that their fans actually call names to Dhanush for being ugly and vikram for being flop.. i feel like hiding my face when i read those comments .. and bollywood actually remakes all vijay films, leaving behind all the classics.. obviously rarely u see a Vikram's Tere Naam, or Kamal hassan's sadma, but rest all are vijay craps 🥱

I loved that film at that time. It had great songs. But looking back, the film is as misogynistic as they come.
