@bold: That's not how it usually works. In 1965 or 1966 they were supposed to ban it, but it was rejected. Even if Hindus are majority in the state of Maharashtra and they are against cow-slaughter. There were ignored until now. And as soon as government implements beef ban, then people say the fanatics are behind the beef ban (as if they really met them) and they start talking about democracy. Until then no one really thinks about Hindus religious beliefs, and no one talks about democracy, because they are getting what they want. When we have two extreme sides just saying for the sake of argument (one who wants beef, other against cow-slaughter/demanding beef ban) it is impossible to please both sides and call it a "democracy".
I'm starting to think AllBlacks1 was right in that PK topic. There is a reason PK focused more on Hindus than other religions.
