Why do u think only muslims eat beef? a friend of mine is a brahmin and she eats it and even tells me to try it. Don't put everything on one religion like thats the root cause for everything. Hindus and christians and I m sure other groups too have taken part in this.

It's not just a 'few' people. A lot of people depend on beef for livelihood. It is the cheapest red meat available. In many rural areas people irrespective of religion depend on beef for food.
