KSG's radio interview

Interviewer:So how was the experience of the music launch?
KSG:I went with my Mum, she was very nervous and made me nervous too, she also told me that she doesn't like when I take my shirt off, but then I was made to do it at the music launch right in front of her! In one of the reality shows, they didn't show it but all of them together took my shirt off!
Interviewer:So you are into body building and fitness?
KSG:first lets distinguish between the two, both fitness and body building are two very different things, body building is a profession, fitness is something that should be part of everyone's life! Regardless of what career one is in! We as actors have the privilege of the fact that everyone watches us, and we should also promote fitness, for instance I have always been inspired by Salman Khan, it has become very important, and it should be also, it has become a necessity, everyone wants six pack abs, but being fit does not necessarily mean having six-packs, having six-packs is just a bio-product of being fit!
Interviewer:Have you ever had an experience with a ghost?
KSG:Yes, when I was a child but I don't talk about that much
Interviewer:Is it distressing for you
KSG:Yes, it is, it is disturbing for me, in my childhood when I used to talk about it, people used to tell me that there is no such thing, don't believe in it, but..if you feel something..if you experience something..that people do not believe in...just because they don't believe in it..doesn't mean that it hasn't actually happened with you..so..I think everyone should keep an open mind about it...I normally don't talk about this..but...since..ermm..I have done this film..it is a horror genre..these questions pop up...otherwise..this is not something I would ever talk about!
Interviewer:Did anything spooky happen during the shooting of the movie?
KSG:while shooting a scary scene, we saw a real life scary face on the monitor, we were all stunned, and everyone was expecting that someone will come up and say that it is a prank, but it actually was not, so that was quite scary!
Interviewer:Why did you choose a horror genre movie?
KSG:My priority is being excited with a good script, I don't care for the genre, if I as an audience like a script, then I don't even mind if my role is small in the film, I go by my instinct!
Interviewer:So how did this movie happen to you?
KSG:In december I left the show qubool hai, and after leaving that show I had pretty much sworn off acting as I was not feeling creatively satisfied with the work I was doing, and started focusing on direction and production instead! And then one day I got a call from Bhushan Patel and Kumar Mangat, they narrated me the script, and that is how it all happened
Interviewer:How does it feel to get your first solo lead hero movie with none other than bipasha basu?
KSG:I keep saying this, I feel very lucky, bhushan sir is a wonderful technician, and bipasha has the love of millions of people in India and overseas! It is quite breath taking to be in something of that level!
Interviewer:You were accused of unprofessionalism on TV just recently?
KSG:Yes, I was, I haven't told many people this, but I had a 2.5 hour meeting with zee tv, and I told them very politely that it has been 2 months since my contract has expired, I don't feel creatively satisfied anymore, the script of the show is not what was promised, and I was very clear that I wanted to do the show for a year only, it is fine, it is their show, they can do whatever they want with it, but I wanted to leave, so I politely gave them a notice, that I am planning to leave! They offered me more money, because they wanted me to stay, I told them that if I am not happy with what I am doing then what will I do with their money? The meeting ended on a positive note, they knew that I was interested in production, they even told me that i should produce shows for them, at the end of the meeting they told me that I should not disclose the news about me leaving the show, as they were the one's who wanted to release the first article, and that's what happened! Everyone knows what they said about me! They basically backstabbed me!
Interviewer:You have a bad boy image?
KSG:I don't question people for their perception on me, because at the end of the day it won't really change who I am! Everyone is free to say whatever they want! And I guess the tag works for me?
Interviewer:I think you are very honest and that works against you
KSG:Yes, I don't mince my words, I say it as it is, maybe that causes a few misunderstandings, however I do not want to change myself as a person, I feel whatever I want to say, I should say, I cannot change people's perceptions and nor I can change who I am
Interviewer:Are you having an affair with Bipasha Basu?
KSG:No, there is no affair, like I said before, one cannot change people's thought process, you cannot lock anyone's mouth up, whatever people think, whatever they want to say, they can say it, that is ok with me
Interviewer:You both seem pretty affectionate towards each other?
KSG:well thats probably because there is nothing to hide, if two people share a friendship, and if two people have done intimate scenes with each other, they automatically develop a comfort level, which can be seen, that's it
Interviewer:However we have noticed that Bipasha acts snooty with all the newcomers she works with except for you?
KSG:really? well my perception is that she is the kind of person who likes to make everyone feel comfortable!
interviewer:You have only worked with her in one film?
KSG:well thats my perception, but yeh maybe you have more knowledge on this
Interviewer:Do u have the hots for her?
KSG:Yes, I think she is hot, yep
Interviewer:So you saved Bipasha's life?
KSG:See, no, not really, that is what happens when people believe whatever is written in the media, both of us were on a jet skii, I was supposed to make a few rapid turns on the jet skii for the shot, and after the shot was complete, the jet skii ended up flipping, Bipasha fell, and I fell in with her, later I and another technician helped Bipasha, but obviously the story has been changed around in the media
Interviewer:Are you nervous about your decisions regarding what you do in Bollywood?
KSG:No, not really, I am not calculative, I go by what my heart says, and I don't want to change that!
Interviewer:Does you heart rule over your mind is that why you fall in and out of love?
KSG:I am more driven by my heart than my mind, that is the kind of person I am!
Interviewer:Do you choose wrong?
KSG:I think I make very rash decisions!
Interviewer:You must have learnt?
KSG:I have learnt that I should stay away from any kind of relationship! I need to understand myself before, if I am unaware of my own self then I cannot be true to somebody else! I am just trying to be away, and introspect, I do regret a few decisions in life, won't say which ones, I don't blame myself, but I don't say it is not my fault either, two people are always responsible for keeping or breaking a relationship!
Interviewer:Do you get worried about your image?
KSG:One leads their life for themselves! At the end of the day, when..on your last day of your life..you remember what you have done..not what other people thought of you!
Interviewer:So what's next for you
KSG:not sure, I have signed 2 more movies with Kumar Mangat
Interviewer:Is there something that you would like to try
KSG:I would love to do a full on action movie!
Interviewer:That will give u a reason to do more heavy weights?
KSG:Actually..I have a knee and a back injury..before that I used to use very heavy weights..but the doctor advised me not to use them..which invariably made me feel like using them even more..I said no problem..I started doing exercises which can make my back stronger..so I always do my physio exercises, to keep my back strong, and I work out every day, don't use heavy weights, but I do use light weights, I do calisthenic, in which one only uses their body weight
Interviewer:How did you get your 6 packs?
KSG:we are all actually born with these abs! Once the layer of one's fat is removed, it can be seen, but of course there are other factors, like the size of one's abdominal muscles, which depends on your genetics, what body type one has, and how one works out, it is a scientific thing
Interviewer:So in this movie you have shown your body a lot?
KSG:I have always shown my body a lot, even on TV!
Interviewer:even on TV?
KSG:yes, in Dill Mill Gayye, I took off my shirt off quite a bit, initially I didn't, but once we had shot this shower scene, and then the trend of taking off one's shirt in that show and generally in all Indian youth shows started
Interviewer:What do you think is more difficult shooting for a movie or TV?
KSG:nothing can be as hard as television! In TV it is all about getting the work done and working endless hours, so much so that one ends up losing their creative satisfaction! On TV actors don't get the luxury of taking their time to perform, it is more about meeting a certain deadline, the quality of acting doesn't matter at times
Interviewer:Does one get the chance of growing as an actor on TV?
KSG:Yes! There is ample opportunity to grow and get better!
Interviewer:Do you listen to what your Mum says and try to keep her happy?
KSG:Yes, you may have noticed that now a days in interviews I don't chew my gum, it is because my Mum doesn't like it, because she saw me at the trailer launch, and she felt that I was not up to the mark, she said that Bipasha was talking so nicely and gracefully, and you were standing their chewing your gum? I was also told to sit up straight, now that this is a radio interview I am enjoying talking in a relaxing manner! Otherwise everyone tells me off for not sitting straight, staff members, Bipasha and my Mum! I am always supposed to be presentable!
Interviewer:You see a lot of changes in your life?
KSG:Yes, my life pretty much changes in every two years
Interviewer:When will you make your life static?
KSG:I think my life will become static now, I am just going to be all by myself, which is something that I need to do for myself
Interviewer:Will you like a wife like Bipasha in real life?
KSG:I don't want a wife in personal life! Please forgive me!
Interviewer:You did say that you still believe in the institution of marriage?
KSG:Of course I do, but that does not mean that I want to do it! It is a good institution, it is an eventuality of every relationship, whoever you love you would like to spend the rest of the life with! Bind yourself in the relationship, I believe in it, it is really nice, but it is not something that I want!
Interviewer:Breaking off a marriage cannot be easy?
KSG:No! It is not easy! I am glad I have got this movie, if I had not been working so hard for it, and wasn't so busy, I would have probably suffered from depression, it was not something easy at all! I feel it is good, God has given me no time to think about this stuff, however when the movie is over, I will take some time and think about my life
Interviewer:Your Mother has been a great support?
KSG:Yes! She has been a big support and she has promised me to not leave me in the middle of it all! I am happy!
Interviewer:Do your fans make you go crazy?
KSG:No! They make me feel good! They make me feel like that I have done something good! They give me so much love and affection! And no matter how much time it takes to meet each and every one of them, it is always a big pleasure, yes it can get tiring, but one cannot be selfish about it, we celebrities have a gift of making people happy and we should always be humble about that!
Interviewer:Will you continue to do Television?
KSG:I have been offered a few mini-series from Star Plus and Colors TV, but nothing has been materialised as yet, whenever I do get the time..you know it will be nice...it will be shot like a film...just like 50-55 days non-stop..then it can just go on air..I like doing that kind of work..
Interviewer:What makes people choose divorce?
KSG:See..when one looks back at their life..they would like to know that majority of it has been spent in happiness...if one feels that they have taken a decision which is not right..and you are not happy...and your partner is not happy...then no one has really handcuffed you..it is not like you are sentenced for the rest of your life..one can always get out of it..if two people are not happy..they have to be strong..they need to understand that they are not happy..a lot of people are doing that now I guess..but not because it is easy...it is never easy! People think that the people who break their marriages don't believe in the institution, which is not true! However now a days I guess the priorities have changed! As we all live our lives for ourselves and not for anyone else!
Interviewer:So the marriage is not always the real deal?
KSG:A marriage should be for keeps! Definitely! However, if you are not happy, you cannot spend the rest of your life torturing each other! Then also have a family, have children, and then also make them unhappy! So one needs to be strong enough to end things! To face people and tell them that yes I am not happy, and I want to live my life myself, it is definitely not easy!
