That is the thing with acting legends: they are above B.O. hassles.
@ this point he is working to satisfy the thespian in him & that is all he needs.

Shamitabh isnt a BO formulaic movie. The crew is doing it for the love of acting first. That is why Dhanush said he has no pressures to succeed in Bwood. It is more interesting for him coz of the opportunity to do the act in ACTing.
Not everything is about BO, & rightfully so...

@preep I also love seeing him in KBC! 👍🏼
@bollyfanlover box office wasn't really my main point though. My main point has more to do with films that will stay in the memory of the audience, and after Paa he hasn't had any movie like that. I just used box office to back up my point about how these movies will not be remembered by the audience because these movies did fail at the box office because of their lack of quality.

But I'm okay with the general point you all trying to make that he should keep working as long as he wants to.

@srkat
I do think he should avoid films like Department which have questionable quality.

Otherwise he is doing pretty well. Bhoothnath is successful with kids and plays quite often on kids TV channels. Shamitabh looks like a content oriented film too. So all in all he is doing fairly well.
Regarding memory, his films keep playing on TV all the time and there is KBC and his social campaigns so public has only good memories of him. Therefore even a flop/less quality film doesn't affect his stature eventually.

In his age group, he is doing the best he can with what he is offered Though personally I would have liked to see him in better films like OMG than say, a Bhootnath.

I hope he gets good roles and films. I am glad he does age appropriate roles now. Shamitabh will have better content IMO given it is coming from R Balki who made Paa. Let's see.

Ya Shamitabh does have chances of doing well because of R Balki directing it.

I don't know how I forgot about Bhoothnath Returns 😲 Ya the Bhoothnath series does have fans and they could always make Bhoothnath 3!

Oh, now i get it!😳
Thinking of it, you ar absolutely right, Paa was his last really amazing role indeed! I think as OC said to some extent, it is because quality scripts have been lacking in the industry, especially for roles he could play. I understand why he cannot stop working though. I feel Shamitabh might be another legacy milestone on its way. Fingers crossed!

I just hope that the public gets it, because that movie looks outside of the usual box. Man, i feel like actors spend their lives chasing after the next big role high. Too bad they dont come so often😆

Shamitabh may indeed be confusing to some of the public, but then again R Balki's films have always targeted the multiplex audience, and maybe this audience will like the film!

Bro there's a difference: its not that I WANT him to retire, it's just that I think he SHOULD have retired after Paa 😊

But again, I do understand the point of view of others as well who feel that he should keep working as long as he can
