I didn't mean the 40/42 crore figure is fake. 😆 I do believe it's genuine.

Gimmick means a trick intended to attract attention, publicity or trade. And that's exactly what it was. Why wasn't the movie released on Diwali but on the day after that? Precisely because the post-Diwali day collections are always super high. They were all aiming to make an opening day record, gain mileage/publicity from it.. and they pretty much succeeded in that.

If only the audience didn't worry about the money good films made, we'd have more of those.

Haven't watched it yet but from what I've heard, it's brilliant.

Sorry..If my favorite actor/ actress is part of the movie & it under-performs or flops, we can talk about content, how its the love of the audience & critical acclaim that matters etc..But if it sets a record but the film is trashed by the critics, we can say eff these idiots, the film made money & my fav is very popular..Thats what matters at the end of the day 😆 Thats how it works..Remember this formula when BV & Tamasha release 😆

P.S. Critical acclaim + 2nd highest non-holiday opener is a win win situation for the makers IMO..Most films these days either set records or get critical acclaim..Hirani is one of the few film makers who has consistently managed to achieve both ⭐️

I don't think you guys understood what I said when I opened this topic.

I'm not sayin the movie is a flop or that it will be unsuccessful. All I am saying is that this movie was touted to be some kind of earth shattering mlvie that is going to break every record - and the point is that it didn't! It's just like any other hit movie, it's not a pathbreaking movie.

If you're a Khan, and you can't top HNY or D3's number then your movie HAS underperformed. That's just the way it is!

Nope that's totally ur concern coz i have also been participating in the hype of PK and I have always heard that the movie would be a major grosser. yes the most being heard is 300 crore.

well I don't know what u r talking abt coz even two days before the release BOI said that it won't open very big considering mixed response to promos or absence of hit music. also like someone said, the cold wave is very strong, still the film has done very well..

if that's the 'WAY' u r talking about...than its total BULLSHIT 😆 I want to see how many people believe this, I would like to know the exact number of these people. they are supposed to be worshipped instead of the khans 🤣

PS: Not an Aamir fan..And I find Hirani the most emotionally manipulative filmmaker in Indian history..but I love the 2 Munnabhai's and if I enjoy the movie tomorrow, I'll consider it 200 bucks well spent(though that SSR-Anu song had me thinking whether I want to watch the movie coz I was so distracted by her lips and closed the window before it finished😆)

PK Has Huge Weekend - Phenomenal Trending

PK has had a huge weekend of around 92.50 crore nett. The film had a start which was not up to the mark at places but on Sunday it had extraordinary numbers all over with all circuits at record levels or close to record levels.

The film grossed 26 crore nett on Friday, 29.50 crore nett on Saturday and 37 crore nett on Sunday. The business is being driven by multiplexes with multiplex to single screen ratio much higher when compared to other big blockbusters. The trend of the film is phenomenal with a 11 crore nett gain on Sunday from Friday.

This can happen when a film is very lopsided towards multiplex collections as Saturday and Sunday are best days for multiplex collections. The mass centres were excellent on Sunday and if this continues it will post a huge lifetime total, possibly the biggest ever.
