Aishwarya's Birthday Party Part 1

From making the country proud after she won the Miss World pageant in 1994 to establishing herself as a successful actress and a fashion icon, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan has done it all. She is considered as the most beautiful woman in the world.

In the initial years, she was able to make a name for herself in the beauty industry, but many thought that acting was not her cup of tea.

She made her Bollywood debut in 1997 with "Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya" oppsite Bobby Deol. The movie was commercial failure and Aishwarya was criticised for her acting abilities. Even Rishi Kapoor directed "Aa Ab Laut Chalein" did not prove any worthy at the box-office.

The year 1999 proved to be a turning point in her career. She featured in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam" with Salman Khan and Ajay Devgn. She was highly praised for her performance over her co-stars and even won the Filmfare Best Actress Award that year.

Then came a series of hits like "Taal", "Josh" and "Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai". Then some misses like "Albela", "Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam" and "Hum Kisise Kum Nahin". In between she also played a supporting role in "Mohabbatein", which was a box-office hit.

In 2002, she appeared alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's "Devdas". The film was screened at the 2002 Cannes International Film Festival and was featured by Time in their listing of the "10 best films of the millennium". The movie and the actress were applauded globally.

She then starred in movies like "Dil Ka Rishta", "Kuch Naa Kaho", "Khakee", "Kyun...! Ho Gaya Na", "Raincoat", "Shabd", "Umrao Jaan" and "Dhoom:2".

In 2007, she starred in Mani Ratnam's "Guru" alongside Abhishek Bachchan. Her character was highly appreciated and was even labelled as an ornament'.

Aishwarya garnered both critical and box-office success with Ashutosh Gowariker's period drama "Jodhaa Akbar". She was praised for her performance in the movie. The actress then featured in "Sarkar Raj", "Raavan" and "Action Replayy".

Aishwarya's last film on the silver screen was "Guzaarish" in 2010 with Hrithik Roshan. Her performance was described as the best performance'.

She tied the knot with Abhishek on April 20, 2007. She gave birth to a baby girl on 16 November 2011. Her daughter is named Aaradhya.

Aishwarya is also a regular attendee at the Cannes International Film Festival. She made her Cannes debut in 2002 as the brand ambassador of L'Oreal Paris.

Her appearances in the first few years were a fashion disaster, Aishwarya rocked it in 2005 when she walked the red carpet in a Giorgio Armani printed dress.

Cannes 2012 did not end well for Aishwarya. The new mommy was criticised for her weight gain post pregnancy. However, year 2013 blew them off when she donned a Gucci one-shoulder gown on the first day. What followed next were some even more stunning appearances. She even rocked her looks at the 67th Festival de Cannes.

Aishwarya will next be seen in Sajay Gupta's "Jazbaa". This will be her comeback movie and will see her doing some action sequence. The movie will also screen at the Cannes International Film Festival 2015.
