I feel she unnecessarily dragged the issue...what Deepika said on twitter initially was more than enough. Everyone supported her and that too helped her case. She then dragged it further by that facebook post, and that was certainly not needed. Plus, her Lovely song came out about the same time as all of this..and that doesn't help her either.

Yes.

Although at first I did genuinely support her but she made a mockery of herself and the issue of women empowerment by constantly retweeting anything and everything, comparing it to sex and all her followup comments. Seriously unnecessary.

TOI is the one who create controversy.

I was agreed at first, she totally wrong when she retweet every comment and I am the one who wrote that comment here and there. But, as human I am understood her now because TOI shouldn't reply by saying "it is COMPLIMENT". It's totally degrade her as women. How could "OMG, cleavage show..." you can claim it as compliment when it's totally more to sex objectivity? why not just say sorry? And stupid old women like shobha just know to wrote negative thinking to create more controversy. How could women can't think that "OMG... " issue is more to sex object.
She has right to wrote "MY Point Of View" when those stupid women like Shobha already came up with their negative thinking. And TOI response "Dear Deepika" showing how low grade the TOI journalist, at first they said it is compliment, then they boo Deepika as hypocrite. Suddenly from compliment change to hypocrite. Stupid journalist don't know how to get news. Deepika went there for promotion CE, not to show her cleavage. How could they twist the story to create sensation. Stupid journalist.

Not blaming actresses only. That's why I said it's deep rooted. Similarly why blame public ? It's a two way zone. And NO, public do not ALWAYS want to see women in glamorous avatar. That's a gross generalization. Demand and supply. Only need to tap one of the ends. So women objectification and empowerment coming from someone who is just as involved in encouraging the issue doesn't get my support. If she has the power to raise the voice, she can very well raise her voice against objectification. But if she's going use the women card for 2 min fame, then mehhh.
