Mary Kom Has Good Growth On Saturday

Mary Kom showed good growth on Saturday as it grossed around 9 crore nett. Even mass circuits were up slightly although they won't really go anywhere. the multiplexes especially as the city gets bigger are doing good business. The big cities all showed good gains on Saturday

The two day business till date is as follows.

Friday - 7,44,00,00

Saturday - 9,10,00,000

TOTAL - 16,54,00,000

The film should follow up with good growth on Sunday but it is Monday and Tuesday that will decide if the film will become a hit.

8.5 Crore (Producer Figure)

Budget: As reported earlier Production budget is 30 crore with P&A of around 10-15 crores.
Total Budget is 40-45 crore approx
India theatrical is already sold at 28 Crores and profits will happen if India business crosses 55 Crores

Mary Kom has started better on Sunday from both previous days at box office. Film is registering good occupancy for Morning shows and latest shows report suggest film is doing well again. Film is already doing well in multiplexes, but news is that single screen business is also respectable at least in first shows from whatever report we have.

As for plexes film is currently registering occupancy of around 55-60% which is very good. When occupancy is compared to Saturday then jump of around 20% is registered. Start for the day suggest film should do in excess of 10 crore nett for the day. That means film is now heading for 28+ crore nett weekend and who knows even go near 29-30 crore nett mark if these trend continues for rest of the day.

As far as opening weekend is concerned Mary Kom is not just competing with other female centric films, but is now competing with big budget films at least for first 3 days. Monday and Tuesday trend will show whether film has enough strength to go for long run or not.

Film is doing exceptionally well in plexes specially in high-end plexes. Gurgaon is currently registering fantastic occupancy of 75%. Even Mumbai and Delhi are registering occupancy in the region of 55% which is good.

Delhi - 55%+

watched the movie yesterday. i felt like taking my chappal and calling out director and de dana de on his ass. he sure screwed up. the ongoing seemed messy at times, from flashback to boxing ring, to a trip to ektas soap drama. i also felt the background music sucked as well, this kinda a movie, we needed better music.

that all being said...believe it or not, i liked it. WHATTT???

simple...its the story, got me glued to my seat. INSPIRATION is the word for this story of a boxer, whether the movie did justice or not. the climax, where Mary fights for the championship ...WHISTLE!

it wasn't just a story of a boxer, but a story of a woman, from a child, daughter, wife, mother. so many hurdles, yet she conquered!

last but not least...PRIYANKA CHOPRA.

if this movie gets the hit tag...ALL credit goes to one and only PC. crippled with bad bad screenplay and direction, this girl gives all. and yes, you can see her hard work and dedication in this movie. many times i've seen her going OTT, but here, she nails all. and boy, she looks real in the ring...which mattered the most. her punches were solid, her movement, her getup, her eyes, her bruises, ...you know what...am gonna end with:

RESPECT PC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

boxoffice figures are always low, but i trust them the most. here is what capsule reporting

Film has taken again a superb start on Sunday and today film is further up by 10-15% . If film sees expected jump from evening onwards then 11 cr nett is possible otherwise 10.50 cr nett is certain. Film has total of 17.50 cr nett in 2 days and now film is certain to cross 28 cr nett over weekend which is fantastic result.

It was not bad as people make out to be here . Advertisements could be avoided and role of coach and her husband should have been a little more ,Overall a decent watch

And theatre i went was housefull infact in one theatre we didnt even get ticket

PC and others did justice to show
