Finding Fanny vs Creature vs Mary Kom its Three Way Battle this Friday

As latest allocation of screens going on for Friday that is tomorrow it is three way battle at box office. Finding Fanny (starring Deepika Padukone, Arjun Kapoor) has managed decent screening in multiplexes and is leading the fight. Whereas Creature (3D) has managed decent screening is leading ahead of Finding Fanny in single screens. Interestingly last week release Mary Kom (starring Priyanka Chopra) gets another good shot at ticket counters as film has managed to retain decent screening which is on par with new releases. Mary Kom rocking business on first weekend and steady performance on weekdays has kept confidence in exhibitors and don't be surprise if film again gives tough fight to new releases this week also.

Still screen allocation for both the new releases Finding Fanny and Creature is going on and also for Mary Kom second week. Actual allocation will be locked by tomorrow Morning. But looking at the trend it will be 3 way battle. Mary Kom pushing Finding Fanny for screens in Multiplexes and doing the same with Creature in single screens. Looks like Finding Fanny might come ahead in multiplexes and Creature in single screens. Whereas Mary Kom is certain to get second preference be it plexes or single screens.

Overall screening of Finding Fanny and Mary Kom should be in same range followed by Creature 3D. There is realistic chance that Mary Kom could eventually have the highest screening among three films mentioned and that is absolutely fantastic news for the film.

Samples Screens for Friday in Multiplexes only (12th September) -

Delhi - Mary Kom > Finding Fanny > Creature 3D.
Mumbai - Finding Fanny > Mary Kom > Creature 3D.

Samples for Single Screens for Friday (Delhi and Mumbai) - Creature 3D > Mary Kom > Finding Fanny

Note - Screen Allocation is still going on. We have posted the trends and actual screening should be more or less in same order.

Finding Fanny and Creature 3D are of different genre and hence there should not be possibility of clashes among audiences. But biggest gainer looks like Mary Kom which has at least got good enough screening again and has potential to do well again at box office. Let's wait and watch the fun now.

very disappointed  I was so excited to watch Mary Kom..I love biopics and sports movies are my favorite so obviously I was so looking forward to this one but what a huge let down!
Priyanka was good but the movie just doesn't click. The direction is super weak, it's all over the place... I thought the ending was too abrupt..it doesn't inspire you the way BMB/Chake De did...I could not feel much for Mary or her struggle...

why oh why this movie was not made by a good director..  :( the movie fails to touch your heart..way too much masala in the movie for nothing

Mary Kom First Week Collections: Biopic underperforms at the box office
Posted in : Bollywood,Box Office|September 11th, 2014.

After a good opening weekend, Mary Kom has failed to sustain during the weekdays at the domestic box office. The film had a good first weekend of Rs 28 crore, but business across all circuits dropped by nearly 60% on Monday from Sunday. The slide from Monday onwards wasn't big, but the damage was done on the first weekday itself.
With Finding Fanny and Creature 3D releasing in theatres this weekend, Mary Kom is likely to continue its struggle in Week 2.
The Priyanka Chopra starrer is a profitable film for its producers, but it's the distributors who will end up in the red. Mary Kom should finish with lifetime business of around 50-55 crore net.
Friday - 8.02 cr
Saturday - 9.35 cr
Sunday - 10.6 cr
Monday - 4.3 cr
Tuesday - 4 cr
Wednesday - 3.5 cr
Thursday - 3 cr (expected)
First Week Total - 42.77 crore
Verdict - Average

Mary Kom Second Weekend Business

Mary Kom had a fair second weekend grossing around 7.25-7.50 crore nett taking its ten day total to around 48 crore nett. It should easily cross 50 crore nett by the end of the second week and is now looking at a finish of 55 crore nett approx.

The film was again best in Mumbai in second weekend as it grossed around 2.75 crore nett in the circuit. As it is tax free in Maharashtara the film is putting up decent collections in the multiplexes of Mumbai/Thane and Pune. Delhi/UP grossed around 1.60 crore nett taking the ten day total for the circuit to nearly 11 crore nett

The film is still heading for losses for distributors wherever it has been sold be it CP Berar or Rajasthan though they will be minimal at around 15-20 lakhs which amount to around 10% of the prices paid. Overall a 55 crore number is decent result for the film with only one actress as face value but that appreciation was missing which could have made it a hit.
