Entertainment Friday (1st Day) Collection Early Estimates.

As latest reports are coming in Entertainment has collected in the region of 11-11.5 crore nett for First Day (Friday). Major Single Screen datas are awaited and hence actual may vary. Film showed good jump in Evening and Night shows, but that was not enough to push the total towards a 14-15 crore nett mark which would have been fantastic start. In fact late Night shows again showed drop from Evening-Night shows.

Film started slowly in Morning. After that it hold well in Noon-Afternoon shows with decent occupancy. Film picked up well in Evening-Night time and again showed drop in late Night shows. Overall first day occupancy is in the range of 40-45% which is ok, but could have been better.

Places like Delhi, Gurgaon, Lucknow had a decent business for Day One. Places like Mumbai, Pune under performed than expected level. Even places like Hyderabad which opens well generally showed decent business but could have been better.

Entertainment first day collection are in similar range as Holiday. But Holiday showed immense trending and sustainability. For Entertainment to be in safe position will need to hold well on Saturday (2nd Day) and then needs a big push on Sunday (3rd Day) to put up decent numbers for First Weekend.

Entertainment Opens Well on Saturday (2nd Day) in Morning Shows.

Entertainment may have started slow on Friday (1st Day) Morning shows, but that is not the case for Second Day (Saturday). Film has opened much better on 2nd day and is expected to do well through the day as well as weekend is approaching.

Entertainment has open to occupancy of 35-40% on Saturday Morning shows specially in multiplexes. Friday registered opening of around 30% for the same. That means film has shown a growth of around 25% in Today Morning shows itself. Still majority of the day to go. Single Screens are just started and reports are awaited. Hope film holds well there on from day one and if that happens it is certain that Saturday collection are bound to come better than 1st day.

Places like Delhi, Gurgaon, Lucknow have open good. Even Mumbai has started better than yesterday. Pune is rocking in Morning shows today. Kanpur is relatively slow in Morning shows again like yesterday. Hyderabad has taken moderate start today but very good advances are there for rest of the day.

Occupancy Report of Entertainment for Saturday Morning Shows (Selected Cinemas) -

Delhi - 40%

Gurgaon - 35-40%

Mumbai - 35%

Hyderabad - 30-35%

Kanpur - 20%

Lucknow - 35%

Pune - 45-50%

Entertainment grossed around 9.25 crore nett on its first day as it had decent opening in some circuits but business at multiplexes hit it badly almost all over. The better collections came in North and Central markets .

The re instatement of tax in Rajasthan means a 20 lakhs odd loss straight way for this type of mass film. Despite being one of the better circuits the circuit figure is just around 60 lakhs nett which is lowest for Akshay Kumar starrer in last few years outside Joker. Released a couple of weeks back it would have been 80 lakhs nett in Rajasthan which would make it a top five opening in Rajasthan for 2014.

After Rajasthan the best collections were East Punjab and CI. The film will be relying on a big jump in multiplexes on Saturday but it may be tough as if there was to be a major turnaround it should have started on Friday evening.

Entertainment, starring Akshay Kumar, has made quite a good business at the Domestic Box Office. The movie being a complete mass entertainer, managed to impress a good chunk of audience, what with the film's 1st Day collections standing over11.57 croresat the Box Office.

The film received mixed reviews from the critics, however, a positive word of mouth publicity has been doing the rounds among the audiences.The film could pull off a good business in metro multiplexes in the evening and the weekend is expected to see an upward trend considering the positive word of mouth the film is getting.
Also since Akshay Kumar has had a good connection with comedy, the star is expected to impact hugely on the film. The North and Central India circuits have mainly performed better.
The opening trends are as expected although the weekend could bring in better numbers especially in metros like Mumbai, Pune.
