Anushka & Deepika - Quantity over Quality?

I read a post/ask on Tumblr the other day and I thought it was quite interesting.

Anushka debuted 2008 and has only done 7 movies so far (not including her upcoming releases this and next year). Deepika debuted in 2007 and she's had 18 films so far + 4 special appearances/item songs.

Do you think Quantity is over Quality or is it the other way? Which filmography do you like more, who has done better films/roles and who has better films coming up? That person also mentioned other YRF debuts like Arjun, Ranveer and Parineeti, so maybe it's because of YRF that Anushka has done less films than Deepika.

DP has done better roles so far.

I don't think Anushka was overly selective earlier in her career. She just wasn't getting good offers. In an interview she said how Badmaash Company director didn't want her in the film and treated her indifferently. It was YRF's decision to cast her in the film. Five out of those 7 were YRF films.

Lol quantity or quality, either way Deepika did much better movies. The only movies of anushka which were okay to watch were BBB and RBNBJ. Anushka played same bubbly role again and again

Anuskha didn't have a choice in the beginning. RNBDJ want as big of a hit as OSO. Anushka wasn't in the media as much as DP either. Deepika has been a big deal ever since she entered the scene so it's only natural she would do more movies than Anushka.

Anushka will definitely be more known for quality movies (NH10, Bombay Velvet, PK) than Deepika within a year or so...

As an actress, I always thought Anushka came out as the stronger one. I loved her from her first film. And I found her to be the BEST actress out of the newer generation. The one who could ACT!

Anushka didn't do less films because she prefered quality. I dont think its quality or quantity when it comes to their films. Barring a Band Bajaa Baraat I really dont see any other Quality film in Anushka's career. Jab Tak Hai Jaan? Badmaash Company? miniscule role in Patiala House? Nope. Her films this year looks very promising than her released films so far. I am glad she is not doing YRF backed films anymore. NH10, PK and BV all very interesting projects linedup.

Anushka is a YRF girl...YRF doesn't do much for the girls. They get stuck in the contract and end up doing the same type of roles. They kept giving her the bubbly punjabi character in all the movies she did till date.

Deepika wasn't backed by any big banner hence was free from contract restrictions. She picked films on her own, tried doing varied films, faced failures and success both. Even during her unsuccessful years she worked with new directors and tried different type of characters.

Courtesy her role in BBB, Anu bagged the most promising projects, quite enviable on paper but it turned into a tai tai phiss situation as Matru, JTHJ did nothing for her which was unpredictable as VB/ YC are known to extract career best performances from actresses. The latter half of her promising ventures appear more lucrative but who knows..
Whereas the opposite holds true for DP, who would have thought she'd strike it big with a Rohit Shetty film and SLB who hadn't delivered since Black.
Just goes to show, it's all about the role not whether it's an ATBB.. BBB made less money than LVRB and yet Anu had so much presence/spunk/actress-star combo in BBB, some amazing shots of her in Baari Barsi song alone.. but slowly that impact depreciated with whatever she has followed up with up so far.
