Salman Khan's latest release Kick is coasting to new heights in record books. The film has just overtaken Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express to become the third highest Bollywood grosser of all time.

Yes, the third highest grosser, for Kick still has to beat Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3 and Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3.

The box office performance of the Sajid Nadiadwala-directed film has been phenomenal from the start. It entered the 100 crore club in just five days post its release. It crossed the 200 crore milestone on its eleventh day and also beat Aamir Khan's 3 Idiots (Rs. 202 crore).

Now, on Wednesday the Salman Khan-starrer overtook Shahrukh Khan's Chennai Express as well. The film's business till now stands at a little over Rs. 228 crore nett at the Indian box office.


Kick is Salman Khan's highest grosser ever and if it doesn't lose momentum, it could go on to even beat Krrish 3 which is presently the second highest Bollywood grosser ever with its lifetime collection of Rs. 244.92 crore at the Indian box office.

However, beating Aamir Khan's Dhoom 3 is still a herculean task for Kick. With its Rs. 284 crore collection from India alone, Dhoom 3 is the highest grosser ever.

This Friday sees the release of Singham Returns which is expected to take a very good opening.

Kick is been declared as ATBB . Right Guyz ?

Like HR's Krrish > Krrish 3 when it comes to "bigger Hit" scenario. D2 is still the biggest Hit of HR's career.

The highest grosser doesn't always mean the biggest Hit. Akki's Holiday earned around 115 crores iirc. But Welcome is still his 2nd biggest Hit after RR.

If the distributors hadn't paid premium prices for Kick, it would have been declared an ATBB by BOI too, but it was sold at high prices. It will be interesting to see the distribution share of Kick. ETT was the first film to cross 100 crores distribution share in India and is still 3rd behind only CE and D3. I think Kick should surpass ETT and CE there too.
