I disagree...

Ranbir won critics award for his three films as in APKGK, Wake Up Sid and Rocket Singh - All films in which he excelled as an actor and showed great acting skills through characters that were complex, funny and manifests of excellence!

Talking about Rishi Ji winning award for Best Child Actor for Mera Naam Joker - Who knows what was the competition he actually was facing! It might be possible that he was only person deserving of award and hence won!! Only because he is from filmy background, doesn't make him less deserving!

APKGK is as ordinary as it gets. Nothing excellent. If this is excellent then Aamir's Dil is a classic display of histrionics.

If despite all this if Rishi ended up the way he did maybe there is still a hope for a Amitabh Bachchan to finish off starkids like Ranbir. 😆

Earlier Kapoors were overshadowed quite nicely by outsiders like Dharmendra, Rajesh Khanna and then Amitabh Bachchan.😆

I hope history repeats itself and an outsider takes everyone by surprise and others become mere sidekicks to him.😉

True..But a star kid will also be out of work even if they have a spectacular debut like JTYJN if he/ she isn't talented enough to sustain..Star kids get opportunities on a platter but at the end of the day, someone like Ranbir succeeded cos he proved his mettle as an actor..Ranbir pulling off a Rockstar or a Barfi has everything to do with his talent & nothing to do with the fact that he is Raj Kapoor's grandson..I think its really unfair to put down star kids even after they repeatedly prove their mettle as a performer..Nepotism sucks but it has managed to give the industry a lot of really talented actors..

I completely agree with the fact that star kids are given opportunities on a platter and they have the luxury to fail a couple of times before proving their mettle unlike an outsider who might be discarded the moment one of his films flop..I completely agree with this..But then, it is also true that a lot of star kids have proven themselves worthy of all the opportunities & repeatedly proven their mettle ..
