Why do people consider Ranveer as 'honest' - Page 8

I really dont prefer people like him, who is loud and i don't just comes off as a showoff.

What I like about Ranveer is there is a kind of openness about him in certain things like the condom ad. He obviously has sex even though he is not married and thus supports a method for safe sex. Historically pre-marital and extra-marital affairs are quite common in BW, more so than am janta but the biggest hypocrisy is the image that they are not like that.

As for who he is dating, two people must want to acknowledge the relationship.Does not mean the private relationship is not strong but even actors, especially actors have a right to privacy about their personal life.

He seems to be unafraid to be silly, goofy and stupid. I think he is more of WYSIWYG more than most actors. He comes across as more genuine than most. If he is not, hand him the Oscar for he sure does a great job of playing a 'genuine' guy image. 😆

People feel he is honest because he's always open and frank in his interviews. Watch any of his interviews, you will never feel he is being cagey or hiding something or trying to be diplomatic. He never shies away from talking about anything. Apart from the personal questions(which every person has the right to protect their privacy) he always answers questions very genuinely.

So yeah, unless you are expecting a Gandhi/Teresa type honesty, I would say he is an honest person.

And whatever he has, it's because of Katrina.

I hardly see two or three people who genuinely like Ranveer or Ranbir, and cannot care less about their girlfriends. You, Himani, Thatkidinabox from the Ranbir side, Kabeera, Dexy, Anu from the Ranveer side. The moment they break up with their present partners, we will witness a complete change in fandom equations.

I dislike all, so I don't care.

However, I think you misunderstood people, I think they mean that it seems like Ranveer is not trying to be someone else and is still maintaining goofy nature, he seems to be staying honest to his personality. At least that's what I interpreted.

I think there are ZERO honest people in the industry, I mean lets be honest about that and face reality.

As Ranveer's career has progressed, he's self-admittedly changed a lot. People boxed him in as the loud, over-expressive guy so perhaps everyone is stuck on using 'honest' as a way to describe him or with that perception in mind, but truth is that he is, in fact, pretty diplomatic and clearly lies or has done damage control when it comes to various things - such as his equation with co-stars, dating, etc. You can also include lying by omission in this when it comes to his fraternity connections, but that simply may just be a case of him struggling for a couple of years before debut to get a break (with his unconventional looks for a hero), which made him perceive himself as an outsider who had to work his way in...and continue to endorse himself as such. Nevertheless, the change in the way he conducts himself has happened as a result of what he's experienced and gained in the industry - it's a natural response to a few years of external pressures and demands. So far, he's doing a decent job of holding on to his head and not letting shit hit the fan...but then again, no extra brownie points for him for this because his career is progressing in a nice, steady manner and he didn't get Viveked like people expected.

Some may also say that he comes across as an 'honest' actor due to the way he has expressed interest or dedication to films in general, and the way he's shaping his career based on that. It makes him seem like someone who is in it (as of now) for the craft as a primarily satiating goal, and money, fame, etc. follow it. Stuff like him choosing Lootera or expressing its superiority over Ram Leela is evident in showing that.

Do I think Ranveer needs to cut out extraneous talk and nip in bud the issues that don't concern his career? Yes, most definitely when it outlasts and overshadows the conversation about him as an actor, because it's not helping whatever justified or unjustified image of 'honesty' he's had in people's minds so far. But that's a very fundamental problem arising out of his personal life that he'd need to address. Dunno if he's evolved enough for that or would rather just milk it all for what it's worth.

As others mentioned, no one can be really 'honest' in the industry or anywhere else for that matter...you have to keep up with facades, its just the way its done and frankly speaking, many a times, people like you for what you are not, rather than for what you really are.

He's obviously being coached by his PR on his whole personal life thingy, hence the ping pong reactions regarding his relationship status. He spoke too much in the beginning and then later realized that he must scale that down, even if that makes him look stupid. But there you have it...like it or not, one has to fit into the cookie cutter mold of bollywood at some point in time (I mean, if you really intend to stay and grow)...if the rule is not to speak truthfully about your personal life in the media, then so be it.

Ofcourse, it would have made Ranveer look more graceful, had he just said a dignified 'No comments' regarding dating Deepika, especially when you have no qualms being pictured with your girlfriend all over the town, instead of a straight out lie about never having dated her.

But still, that's leagues better than giving a Lovaria Interview for a National publication and end up looking like the biggest goof-head in town!
